Al McGahan, CFSP
Al was born in Ohio and raised in Missouri. He graduated from high school in Brookfield, Missouri in 1976. Following graduation from high school, Al attended Northeast Missouri State University (now Truman University) where he graduated with a B.S. degree in Accounting and a minor in computers. After graduating from college Al attended the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in Cincinnati, Ohio graduating with his degree in 1982. In October of 1982, Al moved to Billings, Montana where he did his apprenticeship at Dahl Funeral Chapels. In May of 1984, he accepted a position with the Fulkerson Funeral Home in Sidney.
Al is the father of three adult children, Lisa, Josh, and Keely. He is a member of the St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 4th degree Knights of Columbus, Sidney Volunteer Fire Department, Elks Lodge, and the Moose Lodge. He is a past president and current member of the Sidney Lions Club and the Montana Funeral Directors Association. Currently, Al is Montana’s Representative on the National Funeral Directors Association Policy Board.
He enjoys riding his Harley Davidson, driving his Brother’s Jeep, golfing, and just hanging out with friends.
Micah D Ludwig - Funeral Director
Micah was born in Omaha, Nebraska and raised in Iowa. After graduation from High School, he enlisted into the United States Marine Corps honorably served four years. He then attended college at Arizona State University before graduating at Maricopa Community College where he received a degree in Mortuary Science. Micah then moved to Fargo, North Dakota where his only child was born and began working in the manufacturing and construction industries.
He started with Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home in the summer of 2022.
In his free time, Micah spends time with his son going golfing, gaming, and traveling to visit family.
Madina Sult - Sidney Office Manager
Madina Sult started at Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home in July of 2022. She spent the first 15 years of her life in the Arlington, Washington area, learning a love for helping people from her parents. She moved to Miles City in 2008 and spent the next few years adventuring around the area, traveling from Fallon to Minot, then Sidney on to Billings, before moving back and settling forever into Sidney in 2016.
She married her best friend, Scott, in 2019, further cementing her roots into the community. They raise their son, Elliot; two rescue dogs, Mia and Kira; horses Cinch and Rodeo; and a cat named Luci(fer) at their home just outside of town.
Madina spends as much time as possible on adventures with her family – especially weekend fishing trips. She also enjoys hunting, reading, graphic design, and anything that doesn’t involve stacking hay in a barn.
North Dakota
Rick Clemes, CFSP - Funeral Director
Rick Clemes is a Culbertson, Montana native. He has been involved with funeral service for 47 years, 41 of those practicing his profession in the Williston area. He attended Montana State University in Bozeman and is a graduate of San Francisco College of Mortuary Science.
He is married to Linda and they have three daughters; Kendra (Justin) Routh, Heidi Clemes and Allyson (Shawn) Helde. They have 7 grandchildren. Rick has served as Past-President of the North Dakota Funeral Directors Association, was a Past Master of Mount Moriah Lodge #51, A.F. & A.M. He also is a member of the Dickinson York Rite and Kem Temple of the Shrine and the Korner Lions Club. He is a member and serves on the Church Council at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Williston. He enjoys golfing, walking and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
Kurt Baade, Funeral Director
Kurt was born in Livonia, MI and grew up in Martinsville, IN. He attended Vincennes
University studying culinary arts before deciding to change gears and attend
mortuary school. He graduated from
Mid-America College of Funeral Service in Jeffersonville, IN in 1989. Upon
graduation, he spent 25 years serving families in Palm Beach County Florida. After
a vacation in Alaska, he realized that the beaconing mountains of the Alaska
Range was calling. He accepted a
position with a firm in Anchorage, AK and worked for the “Mushing Mortician”
for five years. He now calls Williston home with his Alaska Sled-dogs... Abby, Frayja and recently adopted German Shepard puppy, Oakley. In July 2024, Frayja had a litter of puppies...which brings his pack to 6 including Blue, Charlie, and Echo.
In his “spare” time Kurt enjoys bowling, spending time with his girls, and he has become quite
good at woodworking. He has crafted
numerous items at several of the funeral homes. He has made his own kitchen table, his bed, an
urn for his Rottweiler Dozer & Sleddog Maya and many other things. But he mostly enjoys making barn replicas for
friends and co-workers based on their own barns.
Kurt enjoys assisting families and serving our community.
Lindsey Bradshaw, Funeral Director
Lindsey is originally from Lake Charles, Louisiana having first moved to Williston to join her husband in 2016. Together, with their 2 small children they resided in Williston until the family decided to return to Louisiana in 2022. It didn’t take long that they had been in Louisiana, that her family realized North Dakota had become home and they were anxious to return to the most wonderful people and friends they have known.
Lindsey has been a licensed Funeral Director since 2006, receiving her degree from Common Wealth Institute of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas. In 2013, Lindsey left the funeral industry to pursue a career in Law Enforcement, where she was a Deputy for the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office in Lake Charles, LA being assigned to the Forensic Investigations Unit as an Investigator upon graduating the Calcasieu Parish Regional Law Enforcement Training Academy. It was while working there she realized her true calling was in the funeral industry. She is blessed and grateful to be serving in the capacity of her calling and back “home” working for Fulkerson Stevenson and Springan Stevenson Funeral Homes.
Lindsey enjoys spending time with her family and hosting events, especially that involve cooking. She has a love for preparing Cajun food and baking but most importantly, sharing her creations with any and everyone.
Billie Burkhalter-Lockie, Office Manager
Billie joined our Williston/Watford City/Tioga branch in August of 2015. She was born in Wiesbaden, Germany and was raised in Washington, Alaska and Montana. She graduated from Manhattan, MT in 1995. She had a 17 year career with the City of Miles City, Mt ending her career as the Human Resource/Payroll Officer.
In July 2015, Billie married her best friend, Shaun Lockie and joined him in Williston. Together they share four amazing children, Alexis, Hayden, Austyn and Britton. They love spending time with their family especially boating and swimming in Lake Sakakawea. They are so proud of the adults they are becoming. Traveling is one her and Shaun's favorite things to do and so far they have been to Belize, Mexico and Thailand.
Billie has such a deep appreciation and love for North Dakota and her community. She is very grateful for her position and feels nothing is more rewarding than working with families and being able to assist them in their time of need and beyond.
Zoanni Liffrig, Administrative Assistant
Zoanni was born and raised in Williston, North Dakota. She is a graduate of Williston High School and attended 2 years at UND Williston. Her husband John is in Real Estate and Development. Together they have 2 children, Terra and Tyler. Terra Erickson has 3 children, Zachary, Addyson and Gabriella, they live in Williston. Tyler and Jacque Liffrig have 3 children, Lexa, Brynn and Gavin, they live in Bismarck.
Zoanni has worked in the Funeral Business since July 1997. When asked, she will say, it is the most rewarding job she will ever have in her lifetime.
Spending time with her family and grandchildren is one of her top priorities. Her hobbies include gardening, canning, baking, entertaining, fishing, traveling and the Sioux Hockey Games. Decorating her home for the holidays is a must and she enjoys finishing one project and starting another.

Danielle Fladeland, Stanley Office Manager
Danielle Fladeland joined the Springan Stevenson family in June of 2021. She was born and raised in the Stanley, North Dakota area and considers herself a "lifer" there. Danielle is married to her high school sweetheart, Lionie Fladeland, and together they have three children; Cassidy, Colter, and Coda. Her family lives in Stanley where together they work and raise cattle.
Danielle is very active in her small community, and is involved in many organizations and activities. Her and her family love to travel all over and attend as many sporting events each year as possible. When she isn’t chasing her children’s events, you can usually find them all at the lake fishing or spending time with family and friends.
Danielle loves spending time with her family, hunting, fishing, playing cards, sewing, and gardening.
Danielle is a member of the Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Steve Pearce, Advance Funeral Planner
Steve was born and raised in Layton, Utah. While attending Weber State University, he began working with Skilled Nursing Facilities as a Business Office Manager, which he continued to do for 16 years. After moving to Pocatello, Idaho, Steve began working as an Advance Funeral Planner in 2011. While in Idaho, he served on the Bannock County Board of Community Guardians for 9 years.
Moving to Williston, North Dakota in 2021, Steve is excited to assist families in avoiding emotional and financial burdens by pre-planning. He enjoys sports, camping, and reading.
Darwin Stevens, Funeral Attendant
Darwin Stevens was born and raised in Williston, ND. He graduated from Williston High School and UND-Williston in 1986 with a degree in welding. He continued in the welding field for the next 23 years before joining the safety / sales in the oilfield. After completing his Certified Occupational Safety Specialist and Occupation Safety Management programs, he became the Sales/DOT for Noble Well Services.
Darwin joined the Williston Volunteer Fire / Ambulance in 1991 earning his Fire Fighter and EMT certifications followed by serving as Assistant Chief from 2000-2006 before becoming the Battalion Chief in 2006 and retiring from his Chief duties in 2016 and still continues to proudly serve the community.
In 2015 he became a Certified Auctioneer and personal property appraiser from Continental Auctioneer School in Northwood, IA.
He and the entire family own and operate Stevens Auctioneer Services.
He enjoys camping and riding his motorcycle in the Black Hill of SD in the summer months and at their winter home in Yuma, AZ. He is a charter member of the Fire & Iron Station #116 MC.
Darwin and his wife Debbie have 3 kids, Heather Stevens of Williston, Brenden (Allayna) Stevens of Williston and DaeMynn of New York along with 4 grandchildren Linkin, Aislynn, Taurin and Emersyn.
Terry Niel Thomas, Funeral Attendant
Terry was born in Williston, ND and was raised on the family ranch east of Williston. He attended rural District 8 School Howe #2 and graduated in 1973 from Williston High School. He graduated in 1974 from Lake Region College, ND.
Terry married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Jean Sloan and together they raised two daughters, Lynn and Angie. They are blessed with two granddaughters, Makenzie and Harper.
Terry worked the coal mines at Stanton, ND and spent 28 years in the oil patch, retiring in 2014. He also served 4 and half years in the US Army, spending 3 years in Bad Kissingen, West Germany, Ft Sill, OK and was in Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Terry is a member of the VFW Post 12169, Williston, ND and VFW District 3 Commander.
Terry’s hobbies are hunting, target shooting and chasing after his granddaughters.
He is a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Williston.
Shaun Lockie, Funeral Attendant
Walter Hall, Funeral Attendant
Walter Hall joined our Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home in October 2021. He was born and raised in Laurel, Montana and graduated from Laurel High School. He attended Dawson Community College and Montana State University Billings and graduated with a degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Law Enforcement.
He moved to Williston in 2008 and works for the Williston Police Department.
Walter enjoys golfing, camping and boating and especially riding his motorcycle. He is a member of the Masonic Lodge and The Shrine.
Steve Sanford, Funeral Attendant
Steve has been a lifelong resident of Watford City. He has been a self-employed carpenter for 23 years. Steve has been a volunteer fireman in Watford City for over 25 years and is currently on a 2nd term for the City Council.
Steve enjoys volunteering and helping his community in many ways. He loves to golf, hunt, fish and enjoys summers at the lake.
Steve has been married to his beautiful wife of 24 years, Laura, their children are Alexis (Brandon) Kindred (beautiful granddaughter Camryn), Brooke and Levi.
Ashley Mesker, Funeral Attendant
Ashley Mesker was born and raised in Tioga, ND where she attended school and graduated in 2008 from Tioga High School. Ashley then attended Los Angeles Theatre Academy in Hollywood, CA for 1 year and attended 2 years at Williston State College. In 2013, she married her husband Andrew. Together they have two amazing children Cooper and Whitley. As a family, they love spending time together, playing board games, bike riding, hunting, fishing, and going to the lake. Ashely and Andrew also enjoy getting to be involved in the kids sports by coaching some of their activities like, like football, wresting and dance.
Ashley has been a florist since 2017 and runs Dragonfly Floral out of her home in Tioga. She specializes in creating beautiful arrangements for Funerals, Weddings, and Special Events.
In late 2022 Ashley joined the Fulkerson Stevenson Family and has found another passion of hers. She loves being able to be compassionate and supportive to the community members during their time of need.
Ashley and her family are members of First Lutheran Church in Tioga.
Kay Blikre - Funeral Attendant
Kay joined the Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home family in the summer of 2015. Kay was raised in McGregor, North Dakota and has been a part of the Tioga area for most of her life. She joined the ambulance squad in Tioga in 1980 and has been there since then. Kay loves to travel, sew, garden, and shop in her free time. She has two wonderful grown children who have blessed her with 6 grandchildren. Kay and her husband are members of the Zion Free Lutheran Church in Tioga.
