Howie Daniel Skaggs, 16, went into his Savior’s arms on September 22, 2026.
Howie was a focused young man with his dreams firmly on the horizon. He saw each day as an opportunity to build the life he dreamed of living someday. Even at such a young age, he was working hard toward his future—taking college classes while still in high school, pursuing his passion for aviation through aviation classes and flight lessons, and strengthening his body in the gym while training with Dax.
Howie had a determination and purpose that inspired those around him. He was working toward a future he could be proud of, and his dedication to his dreams was a beautiful reflection of the young man he was becoming. He will be deeply missed and forever loved by his family.
Howie is survived by his mother Rebecca and his father Roger; siblings, Bryttni, Maisy, “Seth”, Keegan and his wife Kahlie, and their children Aurora and Easton, with baby Weston soon to arrive; his grandparents, Dan “Farmall” Elich, Lori Elich, and Mike Skaggs; Aunt Nicole and Alan Deaton, cousin Lexi, Uncle Dupy and Auntie Sheena, nephew Danny, and soon-to-arrive niece Emma Jean; Uncle Jon, nephew Jenson, and niece Jocelyn; Auntie Ashley, Uncle John, and their children Rachel, Adrian, and Tiffany, along with their soon-to-arrive little one; as well as many other family members and loved ones who will carry his memory in their hearts.
Howie’s life was far too short, but the love he gave, the dreams he carried, and the inspiration he brought to those around him will never be forgotten.
Fly high, my sweet boy.
Until we meet again, you will forever be loved and forever missed.
