Viola E. Gustafson, 97 of Sidney, MT formerly of Culbertson, MT passed away, on Friday, July 24, 2026, at the Sidney Health Center, Sidney, MT.

Viola was born on January 12, 1929, in Fallon, MT the daughter of Adam Paulena (Damm) Sackmann. Viola grew up and attended schools and was raised in Culbertson, MT community. She was united in marriage to Robert Gustafson of Bainville, MT. After the marriage they resided in Culbertson, MT where she held many clerical jobs including working for the City of Culbertson. Viola moved to Sidney, MT and made her home at the Lodge on Lone Tree Creek.

Viola enjoyed a few social activities, and she also enjoyed quilting, crocheting and knitting.

Viola is survived by: her brother, Welmer Sackmann, Tacoma, WA, Darren Sackmann, Trienel Sackmann, Melody Sackmann, and Dylan Sackmann. Viola had numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by; her husband, “Kilowatt” (Bob) Gustafson and one brother, Elmer Sackman.
