Yvonne’s Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Hillside Memory Gardens in Williston, ND. Pastor Chris Walstad will officiate.

Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home in Williston, ND is assisting the family.

Yvonne Marie was born on December 20, 1937, in Williston, North Dakota, to Sam and Mildred (Larsen) Melland. She was raised in Williston and graduated from Williston High School.

Yvonne married Vernon D. McGrath in December of 1955. In 1960 the couple moved to Washington. There, Yvonne spent 20 years working for ELDEC Corporation, where she was involved in the space shuttle program. Vernon preceded her in death in 1979.

Yvonne enjoyed shopping, feeding raccoons, spending time with friends, and taking long walks. One of her greatest joys was traveling by train back to North Dakota to visit her family.

Yvonne passed away on July 16, 2026, in Kirkland, Washington.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Yvonne is survived by her sons, David and Vernon (Duane) and her grandson, Dawson.
