Ronald Alan Stromstad, 73, of White Earth Bay, North Dakota, died at his home on Friday, July 17, 2026.
Ron was born July 2, 1953, in Crosby, North Dakota, to Allen and Alice Stromstad. He attended elementary school in Alkabo, North Dakota, through 3rd grade, Fortuna Grade School through 8th grade, and graduated from Crosby High School in 1971. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from the University of North Dakota, launching a career devoted to wildlife and conservation. Over the years, he worked with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, the North Dakota Game and Fish Department, and Ducks Unlimited.
Ron had two children from a previous marriage, Twila and Randy. He married Peggy Comford in Grand Forks, ND, in 1980, and the two shared 46 years of marriage, during which they had two children, Kendra and Dane.
Ron was an avid outdoorsman and found his greatest enjoyment in fishing and hunting. He cherished time spent outdoors and with his family.
Ron is survived by his wife, Peggy Stromstad; his children, Twila Lee (TJ), Randy Stromstad, Kendra Eggerth (Kyle), and Dane Stromstad (Audrey); his five grandchildren, Tyler and Mason Stromstad, Elin and Britta Lee, and Kristian Stromstad; and his siblings, Cheryl Stromstad-Snyder (Owen), Darlene Stromstad, Janice Peterson (Darrie), and Jerry Stromstad (Doris).
