Maxine D. (Wright) Brewer, 79, of Bringhurst, Indiana, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Campus in Delphi, Indiana, surrounded by her loving family.

Maxine was born on November 8, 1946, in Stanley, North Dakota, to the late Lyle and Hilda (Rogstad) Wright. She graduated from Stanley High School in 1964 and was working as a bookkeeper when she met the love of her life, Steve Brewer, in 1966 while he was stationed at Minot Air Force Base.

The couple was married on October 24, 1968, in Stanley, North Dakota, following Steve's service in Thailand. They settled near his family in Bringhurst, Indiana, where they built a beautiful life together and raised their three sons: Jim, Mike, and Philip.

Above all else, Maxine cherished her family. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker who made everyone feel welcome in her home. She was an active member of the Homemakers Association and the Carroll County Garden Club for many years and was a faithful member of the former First Baptist Church of Flora.

Maxine enjoyed sewing, quilting, photography, videography, painting, and tending her gardens. She took great pride in her Norwegian heritage and loved sharing those traditions with family and friends. She especially cherished spending each summer in North Dakota visiting family and lifelong friends. During those visits, she was also a dedicated volunteer at Flickertail Village Museum in Stanley, where she enjoyed helping preserve the area's history and heritage.

Maxine is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Steve Brewer of Bringhurst, Indiana; her sons, Jim (Tracy) Brewer of Bringhurst, Indiana, Michael Brewer of Palermo, North Dakota, and Philip (Ashley) Brewer of Denver, Colorado; her cherished grandchildren, Lindsay, Ashlyn, Emma, Eli, Hudson, and Xander Brewer; and her brothers, Jerry (Sue) Wright of Glenwood, Minnesota, and Tom (Deb) Wright of Palermo, North Dakota.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Hilda (Rogstad) Wright and her in-laws, Ab and Louise (Goyer) Brewer.
