Katrina Leland
January 28, 1990 - March 10, 2026

Residence: Killdeer, North Dakota formerly of Sidney, Montana

Katrina Leland, 36, of Sidney, MT and Killdeer, ND, passed away on March 10, 2026. She was born on January 28, 1990, in Sidney, where she was also raised and spent much of her life surrounded by family and those who loved her. She was the first grandchild in the family, born on her Grandma, Ardehl Leland’s birthday.

Katrina was known for her caring heart and joy of life. Sunday service wasn't a box to check off for Katrina. Katrina carried her faith outside of the doors of church. She loved helping others in need. Those closest to her remember her for her warmth, her sense of humor, and the way she could make people feel welcome and cared for.

After graduating from Sidney High School in 2008 she attended Dickinson State University and Cosmetology school in Billings MT. She enjoyed crocheting and had a special love for animals, often finding joy in their companionship. From an early age she wanted to see the world. At the age of 16 she volunteered at an English Immersion camp in Brazil teaching other youth from around the globe to speak English. She loved to travel.

Katrina’s greatest contribution to the world was the gift of a beautiful little boy, Jett Ryan Kristik Leland. Jett embodies all of Katrina’s greatest qualities. He is full of energy, has a great sense of humor and is so intelligent. His heart is pure and full of love, and he captures the attention of everyone around him.

Katrina is survived by Jett; parents Tim and Tammy Leland; siblings Dillon Leland (Liberty Kay), Karley (Austin) Lantz, and Garret Leland; nephews Braxton and Ryker, grandmother Ardehl Leland and many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss her.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents C. Tom and Marilyn Moravec and Myron Leland and her uncle Tom Moravec.

Katrina will be remembered for the love she shared with those around her, the lasting impact she leaves through Jett and the memories held by family and friends

I fondly remember when my cousin Katrina and her siblings came to visit us in the south and we were the only ones brave enough to try to Insanity wing at East Coast Wings. I wish I had gotten to know her better as an adult. Spreading love to my family in Montana.

Katrina was a good friend. I’ve known her for about a year from moving to Killdeer and taking a job. She helped me through some dark times she was always there and bubbly. She would always two or three times a week come out to the shop to see if she could steal chicken eggs, or get chicken eggs and we’ll cook them right then in there.
She was gone way too soon. Prayers to the family.
