It Is Our Privilege And Purpose To Serve You
Cameron John Holte, Sr.
October 24, 1958 - March 14, 2026

Place of Birth: Powers Lake, North Dakota
Residence: Powers Lake, North Dakota
Age: 67

Cameron John Holte Sr., of Powers Lake, North Dakota, passed away surrounded by those he loved after a courageous battle with small cell carcinoma. He was born on October 24, 1958, in Powers Lake to Arliss “Lupe” and Howard Holte.

Cameron began his working years on workover rigs and water wells, building a strong work ethic that stayed with him throughout his life. He spent many of his early years at Lucy Township alongside his best friend, Terry Lucy, where the two shared countless days hunting whitetail and creating memories that would last a lifetime.

Cameron welcomed his first son, Cameron Jr., in 1983, and the two shared a special bond—especially through hunting and riding snowmobiles together. As a young father, Cameron stayed busy working and providing for his family. During the years Cameron Jr. was growing up, he ran Holte Repair/Gas station in Powers Lake, and also worked at the Powers Lake elevator.

He later married Angie, and together they welcomed their son Connor in 2005. Cameron and Connor were nearly inseparable, spending countless hours together and sharing a close, steady bond.

Cameron continued his career in the oilfield with Dresser Oil Tools, and went on to work at Weatherford ALS, where he built lifelong friendships and connections that meant a great deal to him. After that chapter, Cameron started CJH Transfer, working out of Patriot Pump, where he continued working alongside many of the same friends he had known for years. Even after retiring in 2025, he remained connected to the work and the people he enjoyed so much.

Cameron had a love for life and the people around him. He enjoyed riding his Slingshot, trying his luck gambling, and going out for a good time with his friends and his group he fondly called “the kids club.” He was someone who valued friendship, laughter, and making the most out of every moment. Above all, Cameron was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren, each of whom he adored. His youngest grandchildren, the twins, were his absolute pride and joy and brought him endless happiness.

In June of 2025, Cameron was diagnosed with small cell carcinoma. Throughout his illness, he spent much of his time surrounded by love—especially with Kim, Cameron Jr.’s mother, and his beloved twins.

Cameron was preceded in death by his parents, Arliss “Lupe” and Howard Holte; his wife, Angie; and his brother-in-law, Bruce.

He is survived by his sons, Cameron (Breeanna) Holte and Connor Holte; his grandchildren, Caden, Bella, Colt, Hayden, Aurora, Harlow, and Aspen; his sister, Laurie; as well as many extended family members and friends.

Cameron will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his deep love for family, and his ability to bring people together. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, loyalty, laughter, and memories that will be cherished by all who knew him.

I’m so deeply sorry for your loss. There are no words that can truly ease the pain, and nothing can ever replace his presence here on earth. Please take comfort in knowing he is in a better place, resting peacefully beside the Good Lord. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this incredibly difficult time.

“Say not in grief ‘he is no more’ but in thankfulness that he was.”
—Hebrew Proverb
I am greatly saddened. I pray that the Lord surround you and your family with great comfort, strength, and love. While I did not know him for a long time, I am incredibly grateful for the time I did.
The world seems dimmer with this loss. I am just so incredibly sorry. He was a good man and will be missed by all. Praying for you.
