Joseph “J.W.” Jorgenson, 47 of Williston, ND passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at his residence in Williston, ND with his family by his side.
Joseph (J.W.) Jorgenson was born on December 27th, 1978 to Larry and Toni (Sundby) Jorgenson. He was raised in Williston, attended Round Prairie School, and graduated from Williston High School in 1997.
He grew up on the farm northwest of Williston raising animals and running machinery while participating in football, bowling, 4-H, and FFA. Following graduation, he worked at Stockman Ford, where he excelled in customer service, and continued on to work in the oilfield.
From a young age J.W. had a passion for anything powered by an engine. He took pride in his black, Pepé Le Pew truck that won him numerous awards in car shows. His friends knew him as Dub or J Dub and enjoyed road trips, music, poker, fishing, and working on vehicles together.
He married Andrea Reynolds on April 19th, 2002 and they were blessed with two daughters; Mercedes and Marlee. The girls were always included in his hobbies; camping, cruising the lake in his boat, snowmobiling, four wheeling, and welding. He loved attending the girls' dance recitals and sporting events as they got older. He became a proud grandpa to granddaughter Enslie in 2024 and loved spending time with her.
As his health declined, he found comfort back at the farm and cherished the extra time with his family, daughters, and granddaughter Enslie.
He is survived by his father, Larry of Williston, ND; former wife, Andrea of Williston, ND; daughters, Mercedes (Austin) Knutson of Grand Forks, ND; Marlee Jorgenson of Williston, ND; granddaughter Enslie of Williston, ND; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Toni; grandparents; Orvin and Virginia (Thielman) Sundby; Haakon and Anna (Hegseth) Jorgenson; and aunts and uncles.
Thank You
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the CHI Hospice Care Team who helped care for J.W. while at home. Their kindness and commitment to the end did not go unnoticed.
