Doris Christine Weyrauch
November 7, 1927 - January 22, 2026

Residence: Colorado Springs, CO, formerly of Ray, ND

Doris Christine Weyrauch, 98, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026 in Bonaventure Retirement Community, Colorado Springs with family by her side.

Doris was born November 7, 1927 in Ray, North Dakota and attended Ray High School. Doris lived a life deeply rooted in North Dakota’s landscapes and traditions. She married A. Sidney Weyrauch on July 9, 1946 in Ray, and together they shared 54 years of marriage until his passing in 2001. Doris and Sidney were blessed with three children. She cherished her role as mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. In 2014 Doris moved to Colorado Springs to be near family.

In the early years of their marriage, she and Sidney worked side-by-side raising their family and farming the land. Sid, Doris, and their extended family all shared a deep love for farming. Doris was an exceptional homemaker, known for her gardening, flowers, canning, immaculate housekeeping, meals and lunches she sent to the fields. She hosted large family gatherings and prepared holiday meals with joy & ease where all were welcomed. Doris’s cinnamon bread, homemade buns, and endless supply of cookies and pies were enjoyed by many. The family porch swing was a gathering place and a source of joy for many young people.

She and Sidney were active in St. Michaels Catholic Church in Ray. Doris held various offices in the Altar Society, and was a dedicated supporter of the community. She was involved with numerous organizations, including Ray Belles 4-H, Kitchen Klatter Homemakers, crafting groups, and was known for rarely missing a Ray Jays basketball game. Socializing and hosting coffee with friends & family was part of her daily routine. She was thoughtful, caring, and never wanted to miss out on anything.

Throughout her life, Doris was a caregiver for her grandparents, parents, and finally to Sidney and her son Steven. Her nieces and nephews were loved and a big part of her life. She taught her children to be independent, kind & caring to others, and to always think for themselves. The me-first mindset would not fly in Doris’s world.

She is survived by her daughter, Colleen (Scott) Braeger; her son, Steven Weyrauch, daughter-in-law Patty Weyrauch and sister-in-law, Connie Bergstrom. Her grandchildren, Gregory (Lisa) Braeger, Jessica (Jason) Bell, Amy (Shannon) Fagerland, Sara Schmidt & Darren Weyrauch. Her great-grandchildren, Sean (Amanda) Weyrauch Schmidt, Taylore Braeger, Andrew Braeger, Lauren Fagerland, Hayley Schmidt, Blake Fagerland & Zaine Bell. Her great-great grandchildren, Hadley and Brooks Schmidt & numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, A. Sidney Weyrauch; son, Jerry Weyrauch; her parents, Elvin Garfield (EG) and Laura (Daniels) Bergstrom and brothers, Garfield Jr. & Don Bergstrom.

May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love of her family and the legacy of her remarkable life.
