Ronald Herman, 82 peacefully passed away on Sunday November 23, 2025, in Minot, ND with family by his side.

Ronald Dene Herman was born November 13, 1943, the son of Joseph and Martha (Lorenz) Herman, in Fairview, Montana. He was raised and educated in Savage, Montana, through his sophomore year in high school and then Sidney, Montana, graduating in 1962.

He married Kay Anderson on June 18, 1962. They made their home in Sidney. He first worked as a gas station attendant before going to work at Ford garage as a mechanic. He then worked as a lineman at MDU and later at LYREA. Kay passed away October 25, 2005.

He was a member of Elks Lodge and the Moose Lodge. He helped start the AAU Wrestling program in Sidney, MT.

Ronald was a very loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, ranching, processing meat, and bowling with his wife and friends.

His loving family includes: children, Larry Herman, Scott (Melanie) Herman, and Ronette Gronley; grandchildren, Joshua (Katie) Herman, Meghan (Tom) Herman-Kuenzli, Nicklaus Haegele, Heather (Andy) Fors, and Kole Herman; great-grandchildren, Carl and Meg Fors, Hazel and Henry Herman-Kuenzli; brother, Kenny Herman; sisters, Kay (Daryl) Bergerson, Betty Herman Tonack; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 43 years, Kay; brothers, Larry Herman, Bobby Herman; and sister, Doris Norby.

I’m so sorry to hear of Ron’s passing. I really enjoyed getting to know him over the years, he was one of my favorite patients! Talking with him about Fairview and Sidney was especially fun since my family is also from there. My condolences to everyone. May Ron rest in eternal peace.

To the family of Ron ….I met Ron when we both lived at Edgewood in Minot….and we had many good visits…mostly about family and Sidney! My husband Dick, passed away in July and i was so sorry to see Ron going down hill. I sat in his room with him a few times holding his hand and encouraging him that he would be alright. Wishing you peace during this difficult time…..
