It Is Our Privilege And Purpose To Serve You
Sandra Sue Barkley
October 28, 1942 - November 6, 2025

Place of Birth: Jonesboro, Louisana
Residence: Sidney, Montana
Age: 83

Sandra “Sandy” Barkley, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on November 6, 2025, due to complications from COPD and dementia with her family at her side.

Sandy was born on October 28, 1942, in Jonesboro, Louisiana to Bill and Mable Barteet. At age two her family moved to Shreveport, Louisiana where she attended and graduated from Fair Park High School in 1960.

She met her husband Fred of 64 years during their freshman year. She attended Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana and earned a two-year degree in Secretarial Science. After their freshman year in college, they were married on August 18, 1961. Sandy and Fred added three children to their union: Steve in 1963, Jennifer in 1965, and Jason in 1975.

Sandy had many craftsy hobbies, with cross-stitching being her favorite. She earned many awards at the Richland County Fair and sold many of her pieces at craft shows around the area and gave many as gifts to family and friends.

She enjoyed the outdoors and spent many hours in her yard and garden. She loved to fish too, and she and Fred spent many hours on area lakes and the Yellowstone River. She was also a wonderful cook, preparing many meals for church events and the Buyer’s Appreciation Meal after the 4-H Livestock Sale at the Richland County Fair for many years. She also enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren participate in sporting events and was the loudest cheerleader in the stands.

Her last years were marred by many health issues, but now her distress is over, and she is enjoying her new body in heaven, surrounded by loved ones who went before her.

She will be greatly missed by those who knew her and loved her.

She is survived by her husband Fred, sons Steve and Jason (Kristi), daughter Jennifer Andersen (Tom), grandchildren Ryan and Tyler Andersen, Ashlyn and David Barkley, and sisters-in-law Lynda Barkley and Denice Barteet.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Don, brother-in-law Paul Barkley, and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dorothy and Lloyd Barkley.
