Melanie F. Swearingen, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away October 24th, 2025.

Melanie was born November 12th, 1960, to William and Shirley Bottke and was raised with strong values of hard work, compassion, and care that guided her throughout her life. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing but dedicated herself to the family farm and ranch.

On August 19, 1983, Melanie married Leroy Swearingen. Together they built a beautiful life rooted in family, living in Butte, Montana; Lakewood, Colorado; and eventually returning home to Alexander.

Melanie was as dedicated to her family as she was to the land she worked. A devoted rancher, she poured her heart into every part of farm and ranch life.

She is survived by her husband, Leroy Swearingen; their three children, Tyrell Swearingen, Jena (Jared) Hatter, and Ali Swearingen; Grandchildren Jackson, Reaetta and Quade Hatter, and her sisters, Victoria Dishon and Stacy (Larry) Koland.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Shirley Bottke.

Melanie’s life was defined by love, laughter, and the quiet courage with which she faced every challenge. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
