It Is Our Privilege And Purpose To Serve You
Robert "Bob" Hanson
May 11, 1949 - September 1, 2025

Residence: Williston, North Dakota

Robert “Bob” Hanson was called to his heavenly home on Monday, September 1st, 2025 - Labor Day. Bob was born in Williston, ND on May 11, 1949 to Obert and Verna (Huwe) Hanson.

He attended school in Williston, ND. After school, Bob held a variety of jobs over the years. He worked at Arlos pumping gas, and spent time at a meatpacking plant. He also worked alongside his mom at the Westland Café, drove truck for Keith Green, sold cars, and eventually found his way into the oilfield. There, he worked for companies including Bomac, Oilind Safety, and GL Trucking.

Bob was married in 1967 to Monica Marquardt, and from that union came two children: Tami, born in 1968, and Tina, born five years later in 1973. After 19 years of marriage, Bob and Monica divorced.

Later in life, Bob met Terri Gwen and welcomed a bonus son, Aaron, into his life. Bob and Terri were married for 20 years before parting ways. In his later years, Bob found companionship with his special friend, Alene Farber.
A true jack of all trades, Bob was skilled in carpentry, tape and texture work, mechanics, and electrical work. He loved to tinker and was known for being an absolute perfectionist in everything he did.

Bob’s greatest passion was the outdoors—especially hunting and fishing. One of his most memorable adventures was a trip to Montana, where he successfully hunted a bear. His favorite place to be, though, was fishing on Lake Sakakawea, where he spent countless hours doing what he loved most.

He lived in the same home for over 50 years — a place filled with memories, laughter, and the roar of engines. Known for his love of the open road and the great outdoors, Bob had a lifelong passion for motorcycles, snowmobiles, and vintage cars. He was a regular at the Moose Lodge, taking friends there 6 days a week for years.

Rest in peace, Dad — until we see you again.

Bob is survived by daughters, Tami (Chris) Nelson and Tina (Ryan) Barkie; bonus son, Aaron Hanson (fiancé, Brittany); grandchildren, Zach (Sarah) Nelson, Kayla Barkie, Jordan (Katelyn) Nelson, Lacey (Justin) Seifert, Amanda Nelson, Lyrik Hanson, and Aayden Hanson, Olivia and Liam; great-grandchildren, Lilly, Beau, Eli, Brooks, Michael, Sophie, Sawyer, Brynn and Ash; brother, Harlin (Geri) Hanson; sisters, Sharon Hanson and Gloria (Marc) Andreen; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Obert and Verna Hanson; and sister, Carol Anderson.

I enjoyed visiting & dancing with Bob during the many years of Fri & Sat Moose dances. It was sad when the Moose stopped hiring bands & we lost contact with those many dance friends. Bob's contagious smile & fun stories will be missed forever. With our sympathy, C'Dale & Phil
