So sorry to hear the sad news about Charlotte. She was a one of a kind. I think we all tested her patience at the bar; she would say YOU KIDS! A lot. Many good memories made there.

I don’t even know where to start with the memories of my Aunt Charlotte, every one I think of still leaves a smile on my face.
Charlotte & Mom were chaperones for our senior trip, they probably knew there would be alcohol involved but somehow took on that challenge. It was one of the best times in my life.
I also remember when her & Byron owned the Buford Bar, since she knew how old I was, I didn’t even try to get served. (Charlotte worked every shift)
One time, my friend Becky (she wasn’t old enough to buy alcohol either) & I wanted some beer. We drove her Grandpa to the Buford Bar & kept repeating to him, on what we wanted, a 6 pack of Miller. Wes (he was probably close to 80 years old) could not remember that so we wrote it on a piece of paper for him to give to Charlotte with our money. He comes back out & gives us the note back (as she was looking out the door) saying, “she told me to give this to you.” The same note we gave him said, “hi DeEtta & Becky.” Charlotte knew the age of every person & who their parents were if you tried to buy a beer.
We always knew that we could expect a phone call on our birthday, she remembered everyone’s special day. When she was 87 years old, she rode the Amtrak all by herself from Williston to come for a visit. Charlotte stepped in for my Dad & was a witness on our marriage license, what an honor to always have her a part of our Special Day.
I don’t know how she remembered events, dates, names, whatever it was, we could always depend on Charlottes memory. Charlotte, you were a Mom to many, one of a kind & kind you were.
I didn’t know where to start and there is no ending…you will always be in our hearts.
Love always,
DeEtta & Laurel

Charlotte was such a sweet lady who I had the privilege of knowing most of my life! In my adult years we had such a common interest in dancing to old time music. She & Phil loved dancing at the Moose! We miss her radiant smile! I'm sorry we were out of town and missed the celebration of her life. With heartfelt sympathy, C'Dale
