Patrick E. McGinnity, 59, of Tioga, ND passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at the Trinity Hospital in Minot, ND.
Pat was born September 21, 1965 to Leon and Mary McGinnity. Pat was welcome into this world by four older brothers. Pat was always a happy smiling little guy. The baby of the family but in a good way. He was adored by his brothers.
Pat attended Tioga Public School until 1980 when he moved with his Mom to Fargo. In Fargo, he continued his general education graduating from high school in 1983. After graduation he worked as brick layer with his Uncle Andy Buckley. Pat also worked in construction as an asbestos remover.
Pat sustained a TBI in May of 1987. As a result of this injury Pat received medical care in Minneapolis, MN where he was working at the time. He was later transferred to a facility closer to home in Mandan ND. In January of 2020, his brother Jim was able to get Pat moved to Tioga Medical Center’s long term care. Here at home Pat thrived. He had many visits from family and made a lot of friends at his place of residence. He was always up for a game of checkers. He was Prom King last year at the resident’s prom.
Pat enjoyed holidays when he could visit family at their homes and also have his family come visit him for the annual Christmas Party at Tioga LTC. Pat loved pizza parties and when his brothers would take him downtown for ice cream. Pat also enjoyed Thursdays when the Sunshine Band would play live music.
Pat is survived by his mother, Mary Crispin and her husband, Steve; stepmother, Larena Lokken; brothers, Steve McGinnity, Dan McGinnity (Joni), Randy McGinnity (Alisa) and Jim McGinnity (Veronica); stepsister, Melissa Phillipp (Jeff); and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Eugene and Florence McGinnity and William and Evelyn Buckley; father, Leon McGinnity; stepbrothers, Monte, Mitch, and Mel Olson.

Pat’s family would like to say thank you to all of the staff at Tioga Long Term Care. You gave him excellent care and love. For that we will be eternally grateful.
