Sending my condolences to all you kids!!
Dot and I were not close growing up.
Sadly, we went through our whole lives like this until…..
GOD STEPPED IN!!
We had many losses in our family in 2021-2022. I wish I could say that these tragedies brought our family closer, it did not.
Dot reached out to me after a very difficult time for our family that tore our family apart even more than we already were. She apologized for the hurtful things said and done during our lives, which started the healing process for her and I.
We called, texted, and emailed on how we each felt and how we saw the other person. She didn’t know me or the situations that she judged me for and as much as I thought I knew her, I didn’t. We FINALLY forgave each other for all the hurt we both had been feeling for SO many years!
Her and I dealt with a lot of loss during this time but God took hold of us and stepped in when we needed Him most! He softened both of our hearts so that (God being all knowing) we could mend our relationship and mend a lifetime of hurt, unforgiveness, anger and judgement before this day came. Because He’s all knowing, He knows the future and knew that we needed to mend our relationship before it was to late. I watched her blossom and do things she hadn’t done in a long time and was having such a good time living her life. I told her that she looked 10 years younger at that point and looked and sounded so happy and that I was proud of her! Unfortunately, her living that life was short lived.
Who would have thought that just a few SHORT years later, we’d be where we are today, saying goodbye to another sibling and for me, one of my closest friends and sister after we had just mended a lifetime of sibling rivalry. I’m thankful for the time God gave us to share our faith in Him and the support I received from her for the first time in our lives. I wish I could have had her around for many more years as I know all of you do but God needed her more than we do and wanted to end her pain.
I’m so thankful to Him for healing our relationship and giving us a small amount of time to truly be sisters and allowing me to be there for her when she took her last breath.
Life is short. Ask God to heal any relationships that are broken so you can live in peace for the time you have left.
This is not our home. We are just mere mortals occupying this world for a time until God calls us to our eternal resting place. Rest in peace Dot and I can’t wait to reunite with you, mom and others on the other side! I love you sis!
I already miss you so much!!
