Sherry Lynn Smith, 73, of Williston, North Dakota formerly of Elberton, Georgia passed away at her home on January 21, 2025.
Sherry was born August 19,1951 to Lonnie and Eleanor McMurry Barber in Fort Worth, Texas. She was the wife of Bobby Lee Smith, the love of her life, who met her at the gates of heaven.
While living in Georgia, she was a beautician, having made many lifelong friends. After moving to North Dakota, she worked at Wal-Mart as a cake decorator and was known to all her co-workers there as “Mama Peach”.
After a battle with leukemia which she was in remission from, she came to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Joseph Evans.
Known by all who loved her as Nana, she shared and made so many memories with us. From her criticism of cooking, coffee runs, the First 48, date nights with her special friend Billy Semingson, to Wise Penny trips with Kaytlynn, long talks about friends with Hunter and jokes with Dylan. Many snuggles and playing with her great grandbabies were the highlight of her day. She also kept up with many of her children and grandchildren who lived so far away through Facebook. One thing for sure, she loved with her whole heart. No matter if you were blood related or not, you were all her babies.
Left to carry on her memories are her sister, Deborah Jackson; brother, Tommy Barber; children, Angie and Jeff Rousey, Michael and Amber Bond, Amanda and Joseph Evans, Brandy and Bob Leko, Toby Alewine, Tammy White and Tina Smith; grandchildren, Melody Anderson, Emilee Rousey, Dylan Evans, Kaytlynn Andreason, Hunter Evans, Keziah Evans, Samson Evans, Santana Alcayde, Rubin Alcayde, Chasity House, Trevor Smith, Ashley Williamson and Chris Smith; and great-grandchildren, Nova Rousey, Gavin Anderson, Koen Anderson, Aspyn Evans, Dylanger Andreason, Ethan Williamson, Natalie Smith and Barrett Smith.
Sherry is preceded in death by her parents; Lonnie Barber and Eleanor McMurry; husband, Bobby Smith; and son, Mike Smith.
