Courtney Juliet Sorenson
April 25, 1994 - December 19, 2024

Place of Birth: Williston, North Dakota
Residence: Williston, North Dakota
Age: 30

Courtney Juliet Sorenson was born on April 25, 1994 to Kari Sorenson. She was born and raised in Williston, North Dakota. Courtney completed her education in Williston in 2010, and remained here until the time of her passing.

Courtney had a tenacity and grit that most people never have to cultivate. She loved fiercely and wanted- above all else- for her children to be safe and happy. Courtney kept her friends close and her circle small, and she expressed gratitude for her friends' love and contributions to her life. If you'd earned Courtney's trust this was a real accomplishment. She poured thoughtfulness and humor into those she cared about. She had a wit and intelligence that is rivaled by few. Her grin and her laughs are unforgettable, and when she was truly happy her eyes sparkled with a glimmer that told you that all was well for that moment. Courtney couldn't help but smile when her babies would smile at her, and she was happiest with her babies snuggled in her arms. She had an appreciation for her oldest son's humor and wisdom, which mirrored her own, although she may never realize how deeply this is rooted in her own personality. She was the proudest mom and spoke often of how smart and kind Braxton is. Her children's eyes continue to reflect the sparkle of life Courtney shed on those around her, and she will be honored in their laughs and accomplishments for generations to come. Courtney had her own beautiful goals that will not come to reality in her own lifetime, but she will always be a part of her children's accomplishments, which will be many and great because of the spirit that Courtney has given them.

Braxton remembers that Courtney’s favorite color was emerald green, and she was the best snuggler. Her favorite thing was writing in cursive and she always kept a journal. Braxton remembers, “She loved us a lot,” and in return Braxton says, “I love you.”

Courtney leaves behind three children, who were her pride and joy: Braxton (10), Willow (21 months), and Rowan (4 months). She is also survived by her brother, Kyle Starr; her aunt, Sari Whitebody, as well as several cousins. Her chosen family includes Shelby Chord (Aric) and her daughter Aria, as well as Ashley Trowbridge (David), and her children Fiona, Dominic, and Angel.

Courtney is embraced again by her mother Kari, whom Courtney missed greatly in the last several years. She also joins her cousin, Dominic, and her grandmother Sheila
