Dianne Kay Etzel was born on January 14, 1960, in Glendive, Montana to Robert Sr. & Norma (Lange) Etzel. She attended Savage Public School, graduating in 1978. She attended one year of college at Montana State University in Bozeman.

In 1979, she started her lifelong career in banking at First National Bank of Glendive, Montana and later she moved to Sidney, Montana where she started her 43-year career with Richland National Bank & Trust, now known as Stockman Bank.

She was a confirmed, active member of the First Lutheran Church of Savage. Dianne was also an active member in various organizations including the Richland County Christmas Coalition “Gifts from the Heart,” Foundation for Community Care Wine & Food Festival, the Adult Literacy Program, the Sidney Chapter of the American Sewing Guild as well as many other organizations. She had recently been named treasurer of the Savage Cemetery Association.

Dianne had a huge heart. She loved to serve others. She put others before herself. She was the one that stayed in contact with family members far & wide and never missed a family event.

Dianne passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 5, 2024, in Sidney, Montana. She will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know her.

Dianne is survived by brothers Bob Jr. of Hazen, ND and Ron of Savage, MT; sisters Deb Peck (Raleigh) of Sidney, MT and Karen Magone (Michael) of Billings, MT; aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews that she treated as her own.

Dianne was preceded in death by her father, Robert Sr., and her mother, Norma.

Memorial Contribution
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Dianne’s name to the Foundation for Community Care, Richland County Christmas Coalition (“Gifts from the Heart”), or First Lutheran Church of Savage.

I am so sad to hear this. She was a wonderful lady and a dear friend. She was always my go to person at the bank. Not sure what they will do without her. She will be dearly missed. RIP dear friend.

I just saw Diane’s obit in the Roundup and I’m so sorry I didn’t hear anything about this! Diane played Bonko with us every month years ago and I always enjoyed her! My condolences to you all!! She will surely be missed by anyone that knew her and her bright and cheery personality. I will miss seeing her.
