Marilyn Kathleen “Kathy” Davis was born in San Diego, California on May 26, 1945 to Melvin and Kaye Harris. Kathy spent her childhood moving around the country with her family due to her father’s Air Force duties. While the family was stationed in Glasgow, Montana, Kathy graduated from Glasgow Montana Highschool. The coming fall, Kathy attended Montana State University-Northern in Havre, Montana. While attending college, she met the love of her life, Lee Davis.
Lee and Kathy were married April 24, 1964. They made their family home on the Davis Family Farm west of Scobey, Montana where they made their home until 2017. During their marriage, four children were born: Marty, Robert, Angela and DeeDee.
Kathy enjoyed farm life with a special love for their livestock and horses. Kathy always loved horses and took great pride in the Quarter horses she raised and took to Horse Shows throughout the region.
Her children’s accomplishments in both school and extracurricular activities made Kathy very proud and happy.
After retiring from Daniels County, Lee and Kathy traveled the world and had many great memories from the times they spent visiting family and friends around the world. Kathy learned to enjoy wine, so she joined a wine of the month club and later hosted fun filled wine tasting events at her home near Lake Sakakawea.
After her lifelong husband, Lee Davis, passed away she left the family farm and moved to Epping, ND near Lake Sakakawea to be closer to her family. Kathy loved living at the lake and took great pride in her yard and flowers along with watching the birds who inhabited the many birdhouses she had in view.
When Kathy’s health began to fail, she moved from the lake to the Tioga Nursing Home and eventually moved to the Wibaux County Nursing home where she lived until her passing. While living in Wibaux, she continued to enjoy birdwatching from her room window. The view from the room had big, beautiful trees and flowers to accompany her hobby of birdwatching.
Kathy is survived by her sons, Marty Davis of Wibaux, MT, Robert (Mary Helen) Davis of Skull Valley, AZ; and her daughter, Angela (Mike) Hallesy of Epping, ND; along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren living all around the country. Kathy is also survived by her brother, Tex Harris of Anchorage, AK and her sister, Valerie Amos of Wasilla, AK. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Kaye Harris; daughter, DeeDee Davis; brothers, Thomas and Scott Harris; and her husband, Lee Davis.
