Marlyn LeRoy Jorstad, 62, of Tioga, ND passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at the Trinity Heath Hospital in Minot, ND.

Marlyn LeRoy Jorstad was born January 7th, 1962, to Maynard & Myrtle (Saby) Jorstad in Tioga, ND. Growing up he had many fond memories, watching the construction of White Earth Dam with his dad, his first motorcycle that his parents bought him as a kid, then his kids learning how to ride on the same bike as they were growing up.

He attended Tioga High School graduating with the class of 1980.

After graduation, he worked in Tioga, ND at the Auto Body Shop and various other jobs in the 80’s. In the early 90’s he obtained his CDL and started driving trucks in the oilfield, hauling crude and production water for many companies until his passing.

In 1980 he met Debbie Soiseth and they were married in 1981. They raised five children together. He loved History especially learning about wars and guns which he had a steel trap memory for and couldn’t get enough of. Enjoying being outdoors whether it was hunting, fishing or golfing. He especially enjoyed shooting and reloading whether it was rifles, pistols or shotguns and he even took a try at archery. Always looking forward to the yearly family trip to Kool Deadwood Nites every August to look at classic cars and listen to live bands.

He was a loving husband, father and grandpa that will be greatly missed by all.

Marlyn is survived by his wife, Debbie Jorstad of Tioga, ND; sons, Justin Jorstad of Tioga, ND, Jeremy Jorstad of Tioga, ND, Jamie (Nicole) Jorstad of McGregor, ND, Jordan Jorstad of Tioga, ND; daughter, Jessica Jorstad of Tioga, ND; grandchildren, Michael, Nicholas and Rebecca-Ann Jorstad of Sidney, MT, Leni, Arlowe and Wylee Jorstad of McGregor, ND; sisters, Malonie (Bob Lucy) Jorstad of Tioga, ND, Malinda (Layne) Ferguson of Tioga, ND; brothers, Marty (Amalia) Jorstad of Tioga, ND, Mitchell Jorstad of Tioga, ND, Matthew (Jayme) Jorstad of Tioga, ND.

My deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Marlyn. I was saddened and shocked to see his obituary today.
We were friends when I lived near Tioga when we were in 8th grade, and Marlyn was one of the good friends I made during that time. He was always smiling and cheerful, and I remember visiting his Dad's farm on several occasions. He would show me lots of equipment used on the farm, and I think that's part of the reason I turned into a "gear-head" and had interest in cars and engines. I regret that I was never able to stay in touch with him through the years.
May he rest in peace.
