Sweet Jake the snake… every Thursday he brightened my day for the last 8 1/2 years. My weeks won’t be the same, you always knew how to bring the sunshine when I needed it most. I will treasure all the laughs, cherish the memories and never forget you.
Joanne and family, sending you all hugs and prayers. Take care of each other.

Condolences to Joann and the rest of the family. Great guy! He used his belt on a few Greenwood kids when they were growing up (always well deserved).

We really enjoyed getting to know Jake through our son-in-law, Austin marrying our daughter, Darbie. He was a character with a big presence and an even bigger heart. He will be missed dearly. Sending our love and prayers to Joanne and all the family.

To the Obergfell family so sorry about this. It's hard losing a parent, but my thoughts and prayers are with u all. My dad and I use to hunt on your dad's land along with the Bushard's land. My prayers go out to all. I lost my mum back in 09 and lost dad 4 years ago. They are all above watching and guiding us through our journeys in life.

Oh Jakey. Sidney will be so quiet now that you are gone. I can't imagine that town without you. Your smile and laugh lit up a room. You will be sorely missed. Thoughts and prayers to the family, esp his sweet Joanne.

Nobody could ask for a better uncle than you Jake! I'm so blessed to have met you and I'm so grateful you were such a huge influence on Diane's kids. I wish we could have seen you again one more time but there will be a time when we are all up in Heaven together! Rest In Paradise Uncle Jake!

Jake and a few of his girls
Joanne and family~ what an honor it was to get to know and care for Jake the snake! I always knew if he said anything other than terribly bad when I asked how he was we were having a problem! He cracked us up every week with his boisterous voice and laugh! Everyone enjoyed his laugh, his stories and he truly loved life. But the most thing he loved the most was his wife and his family! He was so proud and loved every minute of every trip to see family and every visit he had at home. He will be missed by so many. He wasn’t perfect and he would let us know that but he was always a gentleman and he was real and genuine!
There are so many things he has left in our hearts and we are blessed. Rest easy Jake! God bless, love and prayers to you all.

Just learned of Jake's passing. Great guy. Fond memories of the summer of 1958 when he worked for my folks as the hired man. Dad was gone rodeoing most of that time that summer and Jake kept the place going with the help of my mom. I remember Dad saying how the neighbors thought he was crazy to pay Jake, fresh out of the army at the time, the unheard of sum of $7 a day. "No hired man is worth that" they said. Jake proved them wrong.
