Rosemarie “Rosie” J. (Goettle) Bieri, 92, of Stanley, ND passed away Friday, December 15, 2023 at the Mountrail Bethel Home in Stanley, ND. Rosemarie was one of 6 children, and was born May 18, 1931 to Helen (Mader) and Joseph Goettle.

She was raised north of Blaisdell on the family farm. Rosie attended grade school in Redmond Township and graduated from Palermo High School as Valedictorian. During this time, she worked at the family store in Blaisdell and while working there and making her famous malts she met Alan Bieri.

Alan and Rosemarie were married on January 23, 1952 at the Rectory in Stanley. They lived in Ray, ND while Alan worked in the oilfield and there, they welcomed their oldest son, Eugene. Two years later they welcomed their oldest daughter, Fay. In the spring of 1957, they moved to the family farm near Blaisdell where Alan farmed with his father until his death in 1965. It was at this time they took over the family farm and ranch operation. Rosemarie and Alan welcomed three more children Renae, Michael and Freddie.

Rosie worked various jobs outside the farm such as driving a school bus, Trulson Tax, Market Place Foods, Dakota Drug, selling Tupperware, and 25 years as a CNA at the Mountrail Bethel Home. She was active in many community activities, including church Altar Society, bowling leagues and served 30 years on the Mountrail County Zoning board.

Rosemarie, Rosie, Rose, mom, and grandma can best be described as a caretaker, strong, straight forward, one-of-a-kind person. She was known for her tough love and hard work. She was famous for her bread and buns, dough devils, malts, cream chicken, pointing that finger, and the softest hands. Rosie also had a way with words or what the family calls “Rosieisms,” which if she could not think of a word, she would just make one up. These “Rosieisms” will be passed down for generations.

Rosemarie is survived by her daughter; Fay (Butch) Lemke of Barnesville, MN Renae (Jeff) Nordgaard of Bismarck, ND sons; Michael (Kim) Bieri of Fayetteville, TN and Fred (Donna) Bieri of Dodge, ND brother Robert Goettle, of Stanley, ND She is also survived by 12 Grandchildren; Angela Pierson, of Moorhead, MN, Ryan Pierson of Fargo, ND, Christopher Bieri of Stanley ND, Derek Bieri of TN, Sean Bieri of Rapid City, SD, Kristen Bentley of Meridianville, AL, Kelcie Ryland of Northport, AL, Thomas Bieri of Blaisdell, ND, Noah Bieri, Macy Bieri, Miranda Bieri, and Lizzy Bieri all of Dodge, ND. 4 Step Grandchildren; 15 Great-Grandchildren; 4 Step Great-Grandchildren; 1 Great-Great- Grandchild; and several Nieces and Nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her parents; husband; Alan Bieri of 68 years, son; Eugene Bieri, twin-granddaughter; Abby and Libby sister; Lavina Stave and brothers; Rocky (Ray) Goettle, Herb Goettle, Leroy Goettle.

Sure glad I have so many wonderful times together with Rosie going to minot, Playing many games of pinochle, and sharing many meals. Best of times but now Rosie is with her love and not miserable anymore. Love you, Rosie.

I have great memories of many visits to Alan and Rosie on the farm. Always a smile, always the offer of coffee, lunch, dinner, fun conversation - you name it! She was one of a kind.

So sorry for your loss. Rosie was an amazing cook and baker and friend. I always enjoy my visits with Alan and Rosie at the farm and in Stanley, even after I retired I would stop and visit.
