Aunt Verena was my sixth grade teacher, my very close neighbor, and a warm, hospitable mentor for my formative years. She read our class chapters from Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn at the end of the school day. Upon one of my brief visits home from a summer job in Glacier Park, she made a "Train Cake" with "Hello" on the engine and "Farewell" on the caboose for a family get-together. Lots of fond memories! She is a soul to be admired!

I am so sorry to all of Verena’s family. She was such a beautiful lady. I got to know her when my Dad was in the Tioga Long Term Unit, when she would come over from her apartment for coffee. She was always so pleasant to visit with. She will be sadly missed by many. Keep your memories close. RIP Verena.

So sorry to hear the passing of your mom. Just a wonderful person inside and out. Verena was my 3 grade teacher and next door neighbor growing up. Many hours spent at the Knox home with the rest of the neighborhood friends. Heaven has received another beautiful angle. Thinking of you Knox boys and families during this difficult time.
