Lois ‘Sanderson’ Beane, born December 2nd, 1960, to Opal & Gordon Sanderson. Born and raised in Watford City, she lived in the Park Hotel, owned by her mother, Opal. In the late 1970’s she met Richard Beane and married in 1979. Then, her daughter Heather came along as well as two sons, Donald and Scott.
Lois enjoyed life and shared that joy with everyone. She loved visiting with friends and family, any time. She also enjoyed sewing; creating quilts with her sister, Sandy; making trinkets for children; mastering her embroidery (she did great work on many dish towels), and constantly repairing any pieces in need of repair that her family and friends could bring to her. Between Lois and Sandy, all of the children received a personalized quilt upon graduation, for which the children deeply loved and cherished.
In 2003, Lois suffered from a stroke, paralyzing her right side. This, in turn, caused her to re-learn doing everything with her left side, of which she always reminded us. Jokingly, she would say, “I used to be right-handed and could write better.”. She tried to ignore her disability, and continued sewing even though the arthritis made it more difficult.
She loved so much. She was a great lover of animals, with her all-time favorite being elephants. She also loved birds and she was always concerned that there wasn’t enough feed in the bird feeder. She loved the large variety of birds that would come into the yard, but her pheasants gave her the most enjoyment.
Because of her arthritis she became exceptional at many internet games, which she enjoyed with competitors from around the world. Because of her mastery of the games, she typically won 90% of the ones she played. She would celebrate her victories with all who were nearby; this gave her great joy in the final stages of her life.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Opal and Gordon, and her brother, Wayne.
Lois is survived by her husband, Richard; her daughter Heather and husband Brett; her two sons, Donald and Scott; three grandchildren of whom she loved deeply; Kendell (Josy), Jared, and Zoe (Joe); two great grandchildren, Jordyn and Jericho; sister, Sandy Ragains; and two brothers, Robert and Melvin Sanderson.
Lois loved life; loved to smile and share; love her family and friends; all of that love will be dearly missed by all.
