Eleanor Enget, 97 of Tioga, ND formerly of Powers Lake, ND passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at the Tioga Medical Long Term Care in Tioga, ND. Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home in Tioga is assisting the family. Condolences may be left on this page.

Eleanor was born on May 2, 1926, the second child of Clarence and Hazel Watterud, on the family farm near Columbus, ND. Eleanor was one of five girls, having seven younger brothers. She moved to Powers Lake with her family in 1936 where she completed Secondary School. Eleanor excelled in school and with her High School diploma, she began teaching country schools. She attended College in the summers and earned her teaching degree, later getting a Masters Degree in Education. Mrs. Enget taught and loved hundreds of children in the 40 plus years she taught in the Powers Lake Elementary School and many of them loved and remembered her fondly as they grew up and even as adults.

Through the years, Eleanor became a part of both the Assembly of God and Baptist churches and she came to know and love the Lutheran Pastor, Mike Olson who ministered to her while at the Tioga Long Term Care.

Eleanor was a member of the Legion Auxiliary in Powers Lake. She attended all the Powers Lake School activities that she could get to, music, sporting events and graduations. Eleanor and her husband Rayburn, helped raise their grandson, Scott for several years and attended his high school activities. Later in life, she also would attend her grandsons, Dustin and Brians activities in Williston as well as her great-grandchildren’s. She attended Hostfest in Minot, ND. Looking forward to listening to Alan Jackson, Joshua Turner and Daniel O’Donnell and meeting her friends she hadn’t seen for awhile.

Eleanor is survived by her son, Gary Enget; grandsons, Scott (Sarah) Enget, Dustin (Mandy) Enget; step grandson, Brian (Amber) Pretzer; great-grandchildren, Cambrie, Jordyn, Chasen Pretzer; sister, Arlyce (Loyal) Peterson of Keizer, OR; 3 brothers, Clarence Watterud of Milwaukie, OR, LaVern ( Linda) Watterud of Wenatche, WA, and Gerald (Ardith) Watterud of Woodburn, OR; 4 sisters-in-law, Arlis Watterud, Dorothy Watterud, Adeline Lorentzen, Joan Enget; numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Rayburn; sisters, Dolores (Orris) Enget, Jeanette (John) Nelson, Luella (Walt) Shefstad; brothers, Calvin, Daryl “Bob”, Kenny (Marlys), Marlyn Watterud; sister-in-law, Delores Watterud; nieces, Christy Watterud and Bonnie Enget.

Mrs. Enget was one of my favorite teachers. Even in her 90’s she remembered the three Essen Girls, our names, and things we did in her 2nd grade classroom. She will be sadly missed by many. She is now at peace with our Heavenly Father. Condolences to all her family
RIP Mrs. Enget.

Eleanor after we had a hair and makeup morning she wanted pictures with all the staff.
Eleanor forever changed my heart and life as a CNA. She was an amazing and loved women who pushed us everyday to be our best in life. My time with her while I helped take care of her will forever be precious to me. I wasn't just Ashley to her I was "My Girl" to her and she was "my sunshine". I pray for her family in this time of need. Thank you Eleanor for all the laughs and bright days I will miss you.

Mrs Enget had to be everyone's favorite 2nd grade teacher! She was dedicated to teaching and loved her students so --- education is an important profession and when you find someone who makes a lasting impression on so many, you know they chose wisely! Rest in peace Mrs Enget, you were loved dearly by so many

ELEANOR & I Had some fine times together - she was one to welcome me to town, & get me going to the 'Church Teas'. She was kind to me, & encouraged me. Yes she could be tough -- yet I learned some lessons from her (& as to experiences together -- One we had was that we'd enjoy the Holidays, for at Christmas I'd take her out to see the decorations and lights - we'd drive around for over an Hour just enjoying them! ).
*She so loved children, & always always remembered them with cards & letters, even gifts.

I am truly glad she's at peace with our Heavenly Father.
BLESS U, Eleanor for the goodness u showed to me

I met Eleanor and her husband Rayburn a long time ago. I got an invite to Scott's 8th grade Graduation and I went out to see him and met his grandma and Grampa. Scott and I kept in contact thru cell phone and I would call Eleanor and we would talk up a storm over the phone.
My Condolences goes out to her Son Gary Enget and her Grandson Scott Enget. Eleanor lived a Happy wonderful 97 years and she would know who I was when I called her. Eleanor you are now reunited with your loving Husband Rayburn Enget and together for ever and Ever. He will raise you up on Eagle's Wings bear you on the breath of dawn. Make you shine like the sun And hold you in the palm of His Hand. Gone from our sight but never our memories. Gone from our touch but never our hearts. She will be greatly missed
