Valborg Johnson, 91, of Stanley, ND passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023 at the Mountrail County Medical Center in Stanley, ND.

Valborg was born March 16, 1932 to Albert and Ellen Nordlum on a farm near Douglas, North Dakota. Along with two sisters, Gladys and Marlys, she had a fun farm life with chickens, ducks, and a Model T. She went to country school and high school in Ryder, North Dakota.

Valborg and Kermit were married in 1949 and became parents of six children; Vicki, Coleen, Kevin, Jim, Dave, and Dan. Besides raising a family, Valborg worked at Piggly Wiggly, Ben Franklin, and Mountrail Bethel Home. For fun, Valborg loved picnics and drives in the country.

At the age of 76 years old, Valborg met her half-brother, Lloyd for the first time. She enjoyed this union as brother and sisters do. Kermit passed away in 2015, and in 2016 Valborg suffered a stroke and became a resident of Mountrail Bethel Home.

Valborg is survived by her children, Vicki (Gary) Evans, Coleen (Warren) Walhaug, Kevin Johnson, James (Debra) Johnson, David Johnson, Daniel (Becky) Johnson; sister, Marlys Hanson; grandchildren, Lee (Kerry) Evans, Jay (Lana) Evans, Lisa (Brad) Hecker, Ashley (Heath) Garrison, Troy (Dana) Johnson, Lance (Holly) Johnson, Ryan (Bailey) Johnson, Casey (Amber) Johnson, Derek (Shayna) Johnson, and Tanner (Cheyenne) Johnson; great-grandchildren, KaiLi, Quinn, Brooke, Leah, Zoe, Leif, Finn, Dylan, Trystan, Danica, Jordan, Colleen, Audrey, Loretta, Raiden, Hannah, Hunter, Lily, Eli, Mason, Easton, Lyndi-Mae, Silas, and Theodore.

Preceding Valborg in death was her husband, Kermit; her parents; sister, Gladys; and brother, Lloyd.
