It Is Our Privilege And Purpose To Serve You
Raven Lee Doak
June 22, 1994 - May 29, 2023

Place of Birth: Minot, North Dakota
Residence: Blaisdell, North Dakota
Age: 28

Raven Doak, 28, of Blaisdell, North Dakota passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023 at her home in Blaisdell, North Dakota.

Raven was born on June 22, 1994 to Clinton and Michele Galloway in Minot, North Dakota. She was headstrong right away as she was born seven weeks premature. This independent attitude stayed with her until her passing. She like to just “take off” whenever she could starting from a young age. At the age of three she tried to walk to Grandma and Grandpas house in the dead of winter with only her snow boots and jammies on! Fortunately, mom caught her.

She started her education in Stanley, North Dakota then moved to Berthold, North Dakota for a few years. She settled on their home place South of Blaisdell in 2004. Raven finished her education in Stanley. While in school she tried some sports but cheerleading was her favorite. Raven’s true passion was music. She loved to sing and lucky for us she had a great voice as she was always singing. She taught herself to play guitar and the first song she learned was her step dad’s favorite song, “Horse with No Name”. Raven also played piano.

As children Raven and her sister spent a lot of time with their Aunt Kelly, to the point some people thought they were Kelly’s kids. Her aunt was always on the go and they like that. Her mom worked a lot in her youth so her Uncle Kevin would babysit quite a bit, it really did take a village! In her youth Raven camped often, but that was where her love of the outdoors ended. She hated all bugs and was deathly afraid of spiders. She always said she would clean anything in the house if she didn’t have to go outside.

Raven loved Mexican food and tried to learn how to cook like Grandma Esther. Pretty sure she would have eaten taco’s everyday if she was able. Raven worked various jobs, her longest was Dakota Drug where she worked with her mother and sister. She also worked for Cashwise Liquor and was employee of the month a few times. The last job was a front desk associate for Black Gold Inn in Stanley. Raven always spoke highly of her boss, LoLo.

Raven was united in marriage to Steven Doak. They made their home in Stanley until they separated a few years later. On January 31, 2022 Raven gave birth to what she said was her best and biggest accomplishment, her daughter River Lee. She loved being a mom and loved her daughter more than anything. Raven and River had recently moved back to the family home where Grandma and Grandpa got to spend lots of time with them, which they loved every minute of it.

Raven had some rough times in her life, but she would always climb back up and start over trying to do better. She never gave up even though she wanted too sometimes. She will be greatly missed!

Raven is survived by her mother and step father, Michele and Dale Brown; father and step mother, Clinton and Shawna Galloway; daughter, River Lee Doak; sister, Copper Galloway; step brothers, Dallas (Samantha) Brown, Tyler (Ashley) Brown; aunt, Kelly (Greg) Jones; uncles, Kevin (Tom) Doran, Rusty Galloway, and Josh Galloway; paternal grandmother, Esther Lopez; great uncle, Jim Zinda; great aunt, Patti Zinda; cousins, Macee and Mckenna Jones; and lots of extended family.

Preceding her in death is her maternal grandparents, Jerry and Marlene Doran; and her paternal grandfather, Richard Galloway.

A beautiful angel
A beautiful young lady. I have so many memories that I could write a book. My first memory was Father’s Day 1997. You and Zachery got into the freezer and took all of the popsicle out. When we got up an seen the huge mess all over the living room an kitchen I told your dad happy Father’s Day. We always had fun at the park, an doing little craft’s together. The angels have another beautiful singer singing praises.

I love you girl

I was blessed to hear Raven sing at a memorial day service. What a gift she had. I will always remember her Grandmother Marlene talk so fondly of Raven and Copper. She was proud of her Grandchildren. May God comfort you at this difficult time.
