Rex A. Renstrom
September 23, 1952 - April 10, 2023

Place of Birth: St. Paul, Minnesota
Residence: Sidney, Montana
Age: 70

Rex Allen Renstrom was born on September 23, 1952, St. Paul, MN, to Robert and Alice (Sanders) Remstrom. He grew up and attended schools in Minnesota. Dale Rongstad became Rex’s friend and in 1992, they moved to Sidney, MT. Dale was moving back to Minnesota, but Rex had made his home Sidney, MT, so he wanted to stay. Dale’s sister, Avis Hansen, became Rex’s guardian. In April of 1993, Rex became a part of the ROI family. While at ROI Rex worked in the Recycling and Janitorial job crew for area businesses. Rex worked for many years for Raleigh Peck at Radio Shack/Electric Land. Rex really enjoyed his independence. He was very proud of his home and liked to show it off.

Rex enjoyed riding his bike all over town (and sometimes out of town!), going to the Casino’s and gambling, and spending time with his cats. He also really enjoyed interacting with the ROI’s staff’s children.

Rex was a funny man with a great sense of humor. He liked to make people laugh. He enjoyed coloring his hair and getting perms. A good friend of his called him “Sexy Rexy” and told him he looked even sexier with bright red hair.

He was a man with strong opinions and was not afraid to state them to anyone that would listen.

Rex passed away on Monday April 10, 2023, at the Sidney Health Center, Sidney, MT with friends by his side.

Surviving him are his ROI Family, his Extended Care family, and his many friends.

He is preceded in death by: his parents; his siblings; his friend Dale Rongstad and Avis Hansen.
