Widow for 18 more years than she was married; it takes strong internal fortitude to do that; Plus Aunt Dorothy outl-lived all of her siblings and half-siblings; and being the eldest sibling that is just amazing.

I have numerous good memories growing up around Belden, ND and often visiting with the Kannianens and knowing Aunt Dorothy for the many years. She was always strong in her faith and stood up for good morals and ethics. I enjoyed watching her tribute on the Fulkerson.com website - lots of great pictures and wonderful music!

As the funeral is taking place, I so wish that we could have been with all of you. That was the plan--we are not in control of the weather and haven't had much control over our tears. When we were kids we spent time each summer visiting from MN and felt so close to the Kannianens. The memories are loving treasures to hold in our hearts. So happy we were able to bring dad there last May. The last time the two remaining siblings were together.

She was soft-spoken and quiet in nature, but her love for others was magnified. You knew you were loved by her!
