Dennis was born on September 23, 1952 in Milwaukee, WI to Dennis Duane Ahoe, Sr. and Shirley Cecilia Ahoe (nee Stelter). He was raised in Devils Lake, ND. He graduated from Devils Lake High School and later attended Devils Lake Jr. College, UND-W, and later WyoTech and Cheyenne AeroTech.
Dennis worked in many career fields throughout his life. He worked at Hedderich's in downtown Williston in his early adult years. Later he worked in the oilfield with various companies such as Wisco and American Casing for a total of 28 years. He also worked for RTS Shearing and most recently, Creation Carpets in Williston. He found his true work family at Creation Carpets and loved this job the best.
His pride and joy were his children and grandchildren. He had a gregarious personality and everyone in Williston knew him. He never walked into a room and left without making a friend or two. He was a jack of all trades and knew how to fix almost anything. He was a gifted artist and his handiwork can still be seen around town. He contributed to the making of the wheat monument at Davidson Park. He also etched mirrors for Bill's Back 40 bar. He created stickers and decals for cars and also for his shop. He enjoyed landscaping and made beautiful yards and properties from small projects like rock gardens and ponds to a project of a much larger scale at Buck Scheele's property.
A motorcycle accident on June 1, 2012 unfortunately left Dennis quadriplegic, taking his ability to do the activities and work he loved. He continued to give advice on life and cars to his kids and cheer on his beloved Denver Broncos. He kept his sense of humor and continued to make everyone laugh.
He developed close relationships with the nurses and caregivers at the facilities he was in after the accident. He could even be witnessed hot-rodding his chair down the hallways a time or two. He had a few fender benders as a result.
Dennis is survived by his children, Brandi Watson of New Baden, IL, Cherice (Billy) Levenhagen of Ardoch, ND, Dustin Ahoe of Williston, and Brittney (Garrett) Robb of Williston; his grandchildren, Kali Wood, Sam Watson, Ben Watson, Matson Delling, Dayton Ahoe, Skylar Robb, and Exton Robb; his parents, Shirley and Clair "Shorty" Young; siblings, Denise (Michael) Loken, Danny Ahoe, Cynthia (Mark) Gilbertson, and Todd (Joni) Young. He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Duane Ahoe, Sr, and his brother, Rick Young.
