Shirley A. Bird, 92, of Stanley, North Dakota passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at the Mountrail County Bethel Home in Stanley, North Dakota.

Shirley Ann Harris was born in Kenmare, North Dakota to Walter and Lillie (Vadnais) Harris. She was the fifth of seven children who grew up on a family farm in Crowfoot Township, Mountrail County.

Shirley married Joseph “Jerry” Bird on September 22, 1949 in Kenmare. On April 12, 1959 she received the gift of God’s saving grace through Holy Baptism. Having studied the Holy Scripture and Martin Luther’s catechism, she stood before the congregation and professed her Christian faith.

Jerry passed away on August 29, 2004 in Stanley. Shirley lived in her home until moving into the Mountrail Bethel Home in Stanley where she passed away.
