Andrew Todd Raasakka
June 13, 1991 - April 13, 2022

Place of Birth: Minot, North Dakota
Residence: Stanley, North Dakota
Age: 30

Andrew Todd Raasakka, age 30, beloved son, husband and father, passed away on April 13, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Andrew was born on June 13, 1991, at Trinity Hospital in Minot to Gail and Mike Raasakka. He was raised and went to school in Stanley and graduated from high school in 2010. He went to work in the oilfield and at the time of his death, he was employed by D & L Paraffin from Tioga, North Dakota.

On September 1, 2011, Andrew became a daddy when Scarlett Marie Raasakka (Mollie Stubstad) was born. She was his princess and he adored her. He loved spending time with her teaching her how to ride her bike, how to dribble and shoot a basketball, and how to fish.

Andrew was united in marriage to Ashlee Knudson (daughter of Norman and Jennifer Knudson) on April 20, 2019. On August 31, 2020, Andrew and Ashlee welcomed their son into the world, Harrison Wayne Raasakka. Andrew dreamed of having a son and Harrison fulfilled that dream and he was so proud of Harrison.

After Andrew’s diagnosis of cancer, he gave his life to the Lord, and he spent every day working on this relationship with the Lord. He was baptized again as an adult at the Pursuit Church beginning his new life with the Lord. He told anyone that would listen about Jesus’ love and wanted everyone he knew to come to Jesus. His faith and trust in the Lord were undeniable and he changed many lives.

Andrew loved to hunt, fish, and watch sports. He loved spending time with family and friends in his free time. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings Fan and coached from his living room chair many Sundays. He loved the mountains and traveling to see new places with his family.

Andrew was a gentle quiet soul. To know him was to love him and he will be immensely missed by all who knew and loved him.

Andrew is survived by his wife, Ashlee Raasakka, Stanley, ND; his daughter, Scarlett Raasakka (Mollie Stubstad); his son, Harrison Raasakka; his parents, Mike and Gail Raasakka, Stanley, ND; his sisters-Heather Raasakka (Kyle Ohlhauser), Minot, ND and Mackenzie Weyrauch (Nathan), Stanley ND; and his grandfather, John Thom, Minot ND.

Andrew was a wonderful uncle to his niece, Stella Franca; and to his nephews, Cooper Weyrauch, Remi Ohlhauser, Rowan and Ezra Knudson. He was a wonderful brother-in-law to Paitynn Knudson, Austin and Andrew Knudson. He was cherished as a son in law by Jennifer and Norman Knudson.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gail Freeman; his Nana, Annette Thom; his uncle, Todd Freeman; his Mummu, June Raasakka and Grandpa, Wayne Raasakka; and great aunt, Mavis Nurmi.

Our thoughts and prayers for Andrew's family and friends. Mr grandfather homesteaded on what later became the Raasakka farm before moving on. I knew all of the old family including Andrew's father. A wonderful family! Such a sad loss this is for both his family, and his professional family, of which I too was a part of many years ago.
