Barbara Louise Voeller née Lund passed quietly in her sleep on the morning of February 8, 2022, at the Mountrail Bethel Home in Stanley, ND.
Barb, as she preferred to be called, was born to Duane and Mary Lund née Gunderson in Rugby, ND on September 29, 1959. With two younger siblings, the family of five moved around the region a few times before settling back in Rugby for a few years where Barb graduated high school.
Settling in Minot, ND took a few years with marriage and children happening first. After divorcing, Barb worked to provide for her daughters and eventually was granted custody of the young boy who she would come to adopt as her own, giving her daughters a younger brother. Her last job was as a certified nursing assistant before she had to quite working for reasons that resulted in her being disabled.
She was a woman who liked being at home beyond anywhere else and she enjoyed reading to a great extent. It was a common sight to find her with a book in hand as she curled up on the living room couch. On cold days a cozy blanket completed her comfort. When her children were young, weekly trips to the local library always resulted in a stack of at least ten (usually more) books journeying home with her. She also enjoyed movies, especially those staring John Wayne and Elvis Presley. She worked on collecting as many of the gentlemen’s films as she could and reveled in with when the topic came up in conversation.
Barbara is survived by her mother Mary; daughters, Shannon (Eric) Mell and Tami Peery; son, Matt Olds; her three grandchildren; and her two siblings Charlotte Estrada and Curtis Lund.
She is preceded in death by her father Duane; multiple uncles; an aunt; and her grandparents.
