Terrence, “Terry,” James Strand passed away at the Rosebud County Healthcare Nursing Home in Forsyth, MT, on January 1, 2022.

Terry was born in Sidney, Montana, on February 16, 1947, to Archie and Bernie Strand of the Elmdale Community. He graduated from Lambert High School in 1965.

Terry liked ranch work and worked on many ranches thoughout Montana. He most recently worked for Treasure County on the road crew. Terry married Sylvia Farwell of Lodge Grass. They were later divorced.

Terry had a good sense of humor, was a hard worker, and was a very honest and generous man.

He is survived by siblings: Linda Howard (Lee) of Hysham; Laura Ogata of Kennewick, WA; Dave (Judy) Strand of Great Falls; Adele Nemitz of Cody, WY, and Doug Strand of Billings.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

So sorry to hear about Terry’s passing. I taught him in school for a couple of years. Enjoyed him and one thing I never forgot was when I would be holding class the rest of the children would be gathered up around me and Terry said that I looked like a mother hen with all my little chickens around me.

I am sad to hear about Terry’s passing. I remember him when we were at Petrie School. He was always such a nice kid and had a good sense of humor.
