Place of Birth: Loyalton, South Dakota

Beth Lorraine Klamm, 99, of Watford City, North Dakota passed away October 9, 2021 at the Good Shepherd Home. She was born July 20, 1922 to Lee and Rose (Hamak) Wagner in Loyalton, South Dakota. She graduated from Ipswich high school, attended Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota for one year and attended Wesleyan College in Marion, Indiana for 2 1/2 years.

Lorraine first visited the Johnson Corners/Watford City area in 1947 as a song evangelist for revival services. She met John Klamm during that visit. They were married on June 15, 1948 in Ipswich, South Dakota. They returned to Watford City, North Dakota and settled on the Klamm farm. They welcomed daughter Resa Lorraine on March 10, 1951 and son Paul John on March 10, 1954. They were married almost 35 years when John passed away on May 9, 1983. Lorraine remained on the farm next to son Paul and daughter-in-law Connie until 2007 when she moved into an assisted living facility in Watford City.

Lorraine worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for several businesses: Dakamont Motors for a number of years, and 20 years for the ASC and SCS offices. She also worked as a secretary for 16 years at Johnson Corners Christian Academy.

She was a member of Johnson Corners Wesleyan Church where she served as a pianist and organist, Sunday school teacher, and church secretary. She loved Jesus Christ as her Savior and was faithful in her Bible reading and prayer.

Lorraine loved watching basketball and was an avid Watford City Wolves fan. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. She always had cookies and cinnamon rolls ready to share when her family stopped for a visit.

Lorraine is survived by her daughter Resa (Robert) Hanneman of Denver City, Texas, daughter-in-law Connie Klamm (Dan) Todd of Pierre, South Dakota, grandchildren Robert Hanneman Jr., Richard Hanneman, Rodney Hanneman, John Klamm, Travis Klamm and Mandy Rink, 14 great grandchildren; brothers, Darrell (Ruby) Wagner of Rapid City, South Dakota and Wesley (Pat) Wagner of Greeley, Colorado.

Having been a USDA/FSA co-worker of Lorraine’s for 20+ years, I came to appreciate the wonderful & sometimes quirky traits she had & admired her7 love for family & church. Rest In Peace, dear lady & enjoy the glorious view you now have of all those fields & deductions you once measured so well!
