It Is Our Privilege And Purpose To Serve You
Angela Thunker
December 5, 1976 - October 5, 2021

Residence: Mobridge, SD formerly of Cartwright, ND

Angela Rebecca Thunker was born on December 5, 1976 in Williston, ND to George and Tami (Yadon) Walker. She has one younger brother, Doug. The two siblings were the best of friends.
Angie grew up and attended school in Cartwright, ND. She graduated high school in 1995 in Fairview, MT. She went to Black Hills State in Spearfish, SD where she received her Bachelor of Education and later her Master’s Degree. She got her Education Administration from the University of South Dakota, Vermillion.
Angie met the love of her life, Dennis at a “good ‘ole fashioned barn dance” in Norden, NE. She spotted this tall, handsome cowboy from afar. He swept her off her feet! The following week, Dennis drove all night from NE to SD to see her. On May 24, 2000 she married him and became Mrs. Dennis Thunker. The two wed in their favorite place in Spearfish.
Upon completing her degree, Angie’s first teaching job took them to Okreek, SD on the Rosebud Indian Reservation. This was a childhood dream come true! You see, Angie loved to read. From the time she was six, she read books about Native Americans and fell in love with the people. She knew then that she wanted to teach on the reservation.
August 23, 2003 they welcomed a bouncing, baby boy whom they named Rambur Thunker. He was a bundle of joy. The apple does not fall far from the tree! Like Angie, he is a joy to those around him.
Later, they moved to a McLaughlin ranch and Angie became the Reading Specialist in the McLaughlin school. Soon after she became the Elementary Principle. She loved the students, the staff and her community, and they loved her. She was full of love, life, and laughter and it spilled over to others and lifted them up.
In 2015 Angie began work for Napa Stores as an Area Manager. She loved her job. She worked right up until September 2021 until her health began to decline.
Angie was a go getter and kept herself busy. In 2008 she got herself started as an independent representative for Esty, Inc. which is an American e-commerce company focused on handmade or vintage items and craft supplies. She called her site Angie’s Stuff. She also was a dealer for Paparazzi Jewelry and Dusty Rhoades. She said Dusty Rhoades was a fabulous company because they focused on God, family and growing others.
Angie enjoyed camping, boating, arts, crafts, fast cars and driving her 2011 green Dodge Challenger! She loved horses, dogs and life in the country. She enjoyed being outdoors and helping her husband with the cattle . She adored her husband and loved being a mom. Their son Rambur graduated from McIntosh High School this past spring. She was so proud of him. Rambur was a recipient of the Build Dakota Scholarship and is attending Mitchell Tech.
Angie is survived by her husband Dennis of 21 years; one son, Rambur of Mitchell, SD; father George (Holly) Walker of Cartwright, ND; mother, Tami (Loren) Reidle of Fairview, MT; one brother Doug Walker of Cartwright, ND.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, John and Anne Walker of Cartwright ND; maternal grandparents, John and Rebecca Yadon of Fairview, MT; Uncle John Walker of Cartwright, ND and Aunt Toni Yadon of Glendive MT; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ron and Betty Thunker of Norfolk, NE.
Any memories you would like to share of Angie are comforting and welcome. Please email her son Rambur at thunker03@gmail.com or text Rambur at 605-850-8066, or mail a note to her husband, Dennis Thunker, at 10331 271st Ave. McLaughlin, SD 57642.
Please join the family in celebrating her life this Tuesday, October, 12th at 10:30 AM CST.
In lieu of flowers, you can send contributions in Memory of Angie Thunker to The New Hope Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 422 Mobridge, SD 57601. Thank You
