Larry Lee Hofmann
March 19, 1952 - July 27, 2021

Place of Birth: Medina, North Dakota
Residence: Tioga, North Dakota
Age: 69

Larry Lee Hofmann was born March 19, 1952 to Rudolph and Esther (Reich) Hofmann in Medina, ND. He passed away on July 27, 2021 in Minot, ND, due to complications from Covid-19.

Larry grew up on the family farm and went to school in Medina, graduating from Medina High School in 1970. He then attended Business College in Fargo, ND graduating in 1972 with an Associates Degree in Accounting. He was employed as an Office Manager at Country Boy Dairy, he worked as an Office Manager and in sales at the Coca-Cola Bottling Co. In addition to his other jobs he also worked at Westward Products all of which were located in Jamestown.

Larry was a hard worker. He worked for several years for Charles T. Davis Trucking both as a driver and general truck and diesel engine repair.

On July 1st, 1999 Larry, along with Curt Waldie formed Hofmann Trucking, LLC which they grew and expanded the company to include two locations in North Dakota and Douglas, Wyoming.

Larry enjoyed all types of sports, both as a spectator and participant. In his younger years he played Men’s Slowpitch Softball, and belonged to various leagues, including basketball, Volleyball and Bowling. Larry was a collector of many types of memorabilia, most notably, anything with a John Deere Logo. Recently, he became interested in woodworking.

Though Larry left the farm after high school, he kept working hard throughout his life. He didn’t wait for things to happen-he made them happen. He didn’t want himself or those around him to fall into a “comfort zone.” He was always striving to move forward in whatever endeavor he attempted.

He married Gerry Tabatt in Jamestown, on October 25, 1975. In 2008, Larry left Jamestown and married Vel Gallagher in 2010. They resided in Tioga ND.

Larry is survived by his wife, Vel; brothers, Reinie and Gordon of Minnesota; sister, Shirley of Connecticut; uncle, Harry Ruff of Streeter; along with many cousins, two nieces and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, maternal and paternal grandparents and many aunts and uncles.

So sorry to hear about Larry passing away. He treated Brett so well. Guess God knew what he was doing when he directed Brett back home to Montana. May God watch over you in your time of grief.
