Frank Hanson Jr., 71, of Bowbells, ND passed away Wednesday, February 3rd, 2021 at the Tioga Nursing Home, Tioga, North Dakota.

Frank Hanson Jr. was born April 2nd, 1949 in Powers Lake, ND to Frank Sr. and Irene (Smith) Hanson. He was the grandson of Nels and Emma Hanson and George and Jennie Smith. He was proud to be a 3rd generation farmer of Lucy Township Homesteaders in Burke County, ND.

Frank Jr, was a lifelong Clayton and Lucy Township farmer and rancher.

On June 14th, 1980 Frank married the love of his life Marla Moberg. They made their home on the farm in Clayton township before building a new house and moving to Bowbells. Frank and Marla enjoyed living close to the nieces and nephews after moving to Bowbells.

Frank loved to hunt and fish especially with many of his good friends throughout the years. One of the highlights of his hunting career was being able to shoot a moose on his own land. He was the happiest when he was out on his land hunting and visiting with the neighbors.

Frank is survived by his nephew, Chad (Kathryn) Christensen and their children, Trevor (Emily) and Alexis; numerous other nieces and nephews, Sandra, Cindy, Ronnie, Julie, Konni, Kristi, Butch, Charlotte, Jennifer, Toni, Dustin, Jill, Scot and Lisa, Jeffrey, Alecia, Amanda, Jared, Michaela, Morgan, Jessica, Kadie, Jennifer, Tracy, Terry and Heidi; in-laws, Gary Christensen, Jeff (Wanda) Moberg, Jon Moberg, Joel Moberg, Marsha (Gerry) Knutson and Myrna Moberg; mother-in-law, Goldie Fjeld; father-in-law, Alden (Janet) Moberg; his last living cousin, June Enget; his very special friends, James and Stacey Funk and many other close friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years Marla (Moberg) Hanson; parents, Frank and Irene (Smith) Hanson; sisters, Loraine Helwig, Arlene Morrison, Phyllis Christensen and infant Constance Hanson; niece, Tammy Ridl and infant niece, Brenda Christensen.

Condolences to Frank's family. My brother Ken's visits home to Bowbells always included a visit to his friend Frankie and his farm. He loved spending time with Frank and Marla.
