LaVerne Delwin Eliason
September 8, 1943 - October 28, 2020

Place of Birth: Kenmare, North Dakota
Residence: Glendive, MT formerly of Stanley, ND
Age: 77

LaVerne Delwin Eliason, 77, of Glendive, Montana, formerly of Stanley, North Dakota passed away the morning of October 28, 2020.

LaVerne was born on September 8, 1943 in Kenmare, North Dakota to Bert and Agnes (Rasmusson) Eliason. He grew up and worked on the family farm North of Stanley, North Dakota.

In 1965 he was drafted into the U.S. Army and went to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri for basic training. After basic training he was stationed in Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam until his discharge from service in 1967. After service, LaVerne (“Bob” to family and friends) returned to the farm and worked alongside his brother Murrey for the remainder of his working years.

LaVerne was united in marriage to Julie Bounting on June 15, 1973. To this marriage their son, Roger and daughter, Jennifer were born. He was a loving father and husband, as well as a hard working man throughout his life. Anyone who knew “Bob” will tell you that he was a man of few words, but was quick to offer up a smile and laugh.

He enjoyed going to threshing bees and car shows to look at old farm machinery and vehicles and listening to rock and roll music, especially Elvis Presley. He also enjoyed watching wrestling, boxing, and crime or mystery shows on TV. He was happiest at home or on the farm.

LaVerne is survived by his wife of 47 years, Julie and their children; Roger (Veronica) of Winston Salem, North Carolina and Jennifer (Jason) Fischer of Williston, North Dakota; grandson, Dillen Eliason; granddaughters, Bethany Fischer, Angelina Eliason, and Caitlynne Fischer; siblings, Virgil (Mary) Eliason of Minot, ND, Irvin (Karen) Eliason of Stanley, ND, Donald (Eldora) Eliason of Minot, ND, Mildred Mohl of West Valley City, Utah, Murrey (Bonnie) Eliason of Stanley, ND; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Agnes; his brother, Kenneth and sister-in-law, Violet; nephews, Kenneth Jr., Curtis, and Ronnie Eliason.
