Raynold Kenneth Vesey
May 10, 1921 - October 21, 2020

Place of Birth: Blaisdell, North Dakota
Residence: Minot, ND formerly of Stanley, ND
Age: 99

Raynold Kenneth Vesey 99, of Minot, ND, formerly of Stanley, ND went to his Heavenly home on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Trinity Health in Minot, ND.

Kenneth Vesey was born May 10, 1921 to Benjamin Franklin and Eva Lydia (Kilbourn) Vesey on the family farm south of Blaisdell. He worked with his dad on the farm until he married Lillian Slind. Ken started his own farm not too far from his folks where he would hook up a team of horses and head to Blaisdell to buy the needed groceries. Milking 12 to 20 cows and selling the cream to buy groceries.

Ken worked at the rock crusher by Blaisdell besides farming. This was where Carolyn, Gail, Roger and Terry were born. On Friday evening Ken would take us all and go dancing, teaching all his children how to dance. On Saturday’s we all would go to Stanley to go to a movie and popcorn.

In the 1970’s this marriage was dissolved and he left the farm and went to Colorado where he worked for Eastman Kodak Company and Woodward Governor.

On March 24, 1979 he married Phyllis Walhaug where they lived until they retired, then moving back to Stanley to be closer to family. They traveled all over the U.S. and loved to dance. In Ken’s retirement years he made bird houses and barns giving them to anyone that would visit. He loved his family and friends and they would always be welcomed to visit. Ken loved to play cards and was sharp as a tack playing pinnochle and crazy rummy until his last few days.

Ken is survived by his wife, Phyllis Vesey; children, Carolyn (Arnie) Stair, Gail Becker, Roger (Darlene) Vesey, Terry (Debbie) Vesey; step-children, Cheryl (Jim) Evensvold, Gary (Arlene) Walhaug, Warren (Colleen) Walhaug; grandchildren, Peggy (Kyle) Bauer, Ally Bauer and Alexis Bauer, Brenda (Tim) Matuszek, Mitch Myers, Rick Myers, Joe (Emily) Vesey, Morgan Vesey, Ian Vesey, Robin Vesey, Carrie Vesey, Tracy Barnes, Bruce (Shawnan) Becker, Adam (Kendra) Evensvold, Faith (Ross) Anderson, Cristy (Jeremy) Jones, Laura (Chad) Thies, Scott Walhaug, Lisa (Brad) Hecker, Ashley (Heath) Garrison, Ryan Rafferty; great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-great-grandchildren.

Our deepest sympathy to your whole family. My fondest memories of Raynold were watching him dance, and going into his “wood working shop” in their basement where he had all his tools for making his amazing birdhouse and barns. He sparked my hobby of wood working and I have passed it onto my kids. We all enjoy wood working and they know that it all started with Raynold. May he rest in peace!

We are so sorry and send our sincere sympathies to Ken and Phyllis' families. We loved Ken.
They were always so welcoming and fun to be around. We loved his stories, attitude, and will cherish the birdhouses he made with love.
It's so hard to believe Phyllis joined him too Saturday. They are reunited and pain free in Jesus' care.
