Michael V. Howe was born in Crow Agency, May 17, 1966, to Delma Jean(Howe)Fox and Leo Daniel Plain Feather. The man who he called DAD who raised him was Melvin Fox since he was 2 years old. His baby name was given by his grandma Susie Yellow Tail, “Sees Buffalo”, his other name was given by John Trujillo, medicine man from Ft. He went to Idaho when he was 8, went there for 5 yrs, returned to Mandaree when he was a freshman in High School, graduated in 1984, he joined U.S. Army, left in October 1984,was in basic when his first child was born. He did a total of seven years active duty and had a break in service, signed on with the reserves and later he was full time National Guard. He was deployed to Iraq for 15 months when he returned he decided to go back to active duty. He did 3 tours to Germany, 2 tours to Iraq, 1 year to Korea, 3 years Fort Riley, Kansas and 3 years to Fort Sill, Oklahoma which he retired from.
Strengths learned from our father SSGT HOWE to be the best in whatever job you have been prideful about, be kind to everybody be helpful in any way that you can (even if it is just holding a flashlight under the hood) Life is too short to be entirely serious all the time. SSGT Howe traveled the world seeing many places and his favorite place was Rome, he and his wife spent 5 days touring. He had many, many stories due to all of his travels. His lectures will be greatly missed. He was our historian. We will miss his grilling, having any events as a family outdoors along with the holidays to bring joy to everybody. His voice was always so reassuring everything would be ok in one way or another. The way he could strike up a conversation with a complete stranger and talk to them as if he had known them. His stories people could sit with him with a straight face on all of a sudden he would put a twist on his story just so he could see them light up with a smile. What we got from our father is to be courageous throughout life. Also, go above and beyond if you’re doing good do better. He loved his High school sweetheart Lorraine Kay (Irwin) Howe the most beautiful woman in his life that he spoiled. A few places they toured together were Paris during New Year’s Eve standing at the base of the Eiffel Tower. Another tour was London, England as he travel across on the ferry boat he saw ZZ Top in person. Also toured many, many castles and seen the original castle of Neuschwanstein Castle which is duplicated at Disney Land and Disney World. Toured Austria but the most favorite tour was Rome he was very excited when he saw the Pope from a far and was amazed at the golden statues and cobblestone streets that are still standing to this day. It felt like being in that time era. He enjoyed his many travels and was proud to have his wife by his side to enjoy it all. It is sad to say it all had to come to an end at the age of 54. He is following his 2 oldest sons who passed in 1995 Terrell Jerome Howe and Miles Leslie Howe, adopted son, Dustin Jay Irwin; his younger, brother, Douglas Jerome Fox, His Dad, Melvin Fox, on Wednesday, October 15, 2020.
