Randy Lynn Dibble, 61, of Minneapolis, MN, was reunited with his loved ones on August 9, 2020, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on November 26, 1958 to the late Lenin and Barbara Dibble.

Randy graduated from Stanley High School in 1977. After graduation, Randy attended the University of North Dakota-Grand Forks for a year, studying Broadcast Journalism & Political Science. He then continued that education at Brown Institute where he obtained a 1st class Radiotelephone operator’s license. Randy used his speaking talent to work as a DJ at KBCK radio station in Wolf Point, MT. Knowing that his vision loss was progressing, he decided to move back to the Minneapolis, MN area. Randy got his foot in the door at B. Dalton Bookseller as a mail delivery person, but with his computer background he quickly moved to Computer Operator and then to Senior Computer Operator. From there, he changed jobs to work at Dayton-Hudson Department Store for 8 years in various positions, as Programmer, Operations Analyst and Systems Analyst. Randy switched jobs to American Express, where he worked for 7 years, leaving the company as Lead Software Specialist in 2002. Randy loved learning new things so he enrolled in Minneapolis Community and Technical College in 2004. He graduated in the spring of 2008 with a Software Development AAS degree and was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa college honors society.

Even with Randy’s loss of eye sight, he always prided himself in being independent. Throughout his lifetime, Randy did a lot of hitchhiking, covering over 8,200 miles in total and something he was quite proud of. Randy was a member of the Northern Lights Chapter of the Foundation Fighting Blindness and this year would have marked his 14th year participating in the FFB “Vision Walk”. Randy was an excellent drummer and in his younger days played in a band called “Black Water Boulevard” with his friends Scott Aune, Marshall Obert and Mike Marden. Randy still continued to have “jam” sessions on occasion with Marshall Obert and Jim Riley. Randy was such a caring/giving person and helped many in need along the way.

He will be sadly missed by his sisters: Cindy (Mike) Peters, Fremont, WI and Kelly (Mark) Greenwald, Zephyr Cove, NV. His nephews and nieces: Adam Anderson, San Francisco (son, Ethan Stahl, Appleton, WI), Amanda (Craig) Korth, Menasha, WI, (daughters, Payton, Rowan, Dawsyn), Whitney (Darrin) Snodgrass, Harwood, TX, Benjamin Greenwald, Sacramento, CA, Zachary Larson, Coloma, CA, and Madison Larson, Coloma, CA.

Randy also leaves behind 2 uncles and 2 aunts, cousins and many special friends, including Robinmarie Dahl and Gay Lyk as well as countless others.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Lenin and Barbara Dibble, grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins and several dear friends.
