Cordell Loren Almond
July 20, 1954 - April 4, 2020

Place of Birth: Sidney, MT
Residence: Redmond, WA formerly of Sidney, MT
Age: 65

Cordell Loren Almond went home to be with the Lord on April 4th, 2020 at the age of 65. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him and gave him peace until the end. Cordell was born to the late John and Violet Almond in Sidney, MT on July 20th, 1954. He grew up in a strong Christian home, the youngest of six, singing hymns with his siblings around the piano. Raised on a working family farm, Cordell developed a strong work ethic. He attended Prairie Bible School and went on to graduate from the University of Montana with his accounting degree while also obtaining his CPA license. In Missoula, he met and married his best friend and love of his life, Nancy. Cordell and Nancy raised their two daughters Keri and Nichole with the same love and passion for Christ. Cordell also shared his love for travel and the outdoors with many trips up to the mountains and to his favorite destinations in Maui and Germany. Cordell was a devoted husband for 42 years and enjoyed spending his free time working in the garden and taking long walks with his wife.

Not only was he a dedicated husband and wonderful father, but a well-respected businessman. Cordell worked in public accounting for over 30 years and became a founding partner of Hersman Serles Almond, LLC in 2009. Cordell’s career was driven by his dedication to his clients and his commitment to integrity. He had a gift of communicating that instilled trust and confidence and he viewed his clients as much more than just clients, but as friends who he took great joy in helping. He will be remembered by his colleagues for his genuine spirit, dry sense of humor and humble demeanor.

The sudden, painful loss of this strong, selfless, and honest man from our lives has certainly left those closest to him shaken but we celebrate the fact that he is at peace in Heaven. Cordell is survived by his wife, Nancy; his daughters Keri (Will) von Rosenberg, Spicewood, TX and Nichole Almond, Seattle, WA; his grandchildren, Jameson and Landon von Rosenberg; his brother, Jon (Gerry) Almond, Sidney, MT and his sisters Joanne Hayward, Bay Tree, AB, Canada, Elaine (Bud) Wald, Wildwood, AB, Canada, and Lenore (Roger) Burnette, Oak Island, NC. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Violet and his brother, Roy. Cordell will be buried at the family’s Klempel Homestead Cemetery in Lambert, MT on June 13th, 2020. A celebration of life will also take place later in August in Seattle, WA.
