Her funeral will be held at the American Lutheran Church in Stanley, ND Friday, July 26 at 11 am.

Graveside Service
A private family burial will take place at Knife River Cemetery at a later time.

Age: 61

Shelly Rogstad, 61, West Fargo, ND passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at her home surrounded by family and with Hospice of the RRV following her long journey with cancer.

Shelly Alane Johnson was born May 13, 1958 in Stanley, ND to Morris and Helen Jean (Ellis) Johnson. She grew up in New Town, ND and graduated from high school there. She attended college in Williston, ND and then moved to Bowman, ND. She was married for a short time and raised two children. Shelly returned to Stanley and married Roger Rogstad on Jan 1, 1992. They lived in Stanley before moving to the family farm in 2005. She worked at the Hardware Hank, Dakota Drug and later at the City Auditor’s office all in Stanley. They moved to West Fargo in 2013.

Shelly loved spending time with her grandchildren and being a meticulous homemaker. She also enjoyed quilting, sewing, watching sports, socializing with family and friends and spending winters in Arizona.

She is survived by her husband, Roger; son, Brandon Hauge of Stanley; daughter, Lindsey (Tyler) Nelson of West Fargo; two grandchildren, Jack and Dexx Nelson; father, Morris Johnson of Fargo; two sisters, Lynda Morris of Durango, CO and Sherry (LaVern) Laib of McClusky, ND; sister-in-law, Marcia Johnson of Minot; along with several nieces and nephews.

Shelly was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Jean Johnson and four brothers, Donovan, Barry (Sandy), Corry and Lonnie.

Memorial Contribution

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Hospice of RRV or The Roger Maris Cancer Center.

Shelly’s family, I’m so sorry for your loss. I always liked Shelly; how could you not? She was always kind and fair. I really respected and admired her as she began and continued her fight with cancer. She was a force to be reckoned with and she fought a good fight.
