Clifton Ordean Halvorson was born April 15, 1956 in Stanley, ND, to Kenneth and Joyce (Wooten) Halvorson. He died Saturday, February 23, 2019 in a Minot hospital.

Clifton grew up on the family farm north of White Earth, the youngest of three children. He attended school in White Earth and Tioga, graduating with the class of 1975. He met Rhonda Peterson and they were united in marriage in November of 1975. They had three children, Kristie, Chad and Nathan.
Clifton worked for Portal Service for many years before moving to Dickinson and working for his brother, Steve, at Wyoming Casing.
He married Tina Knigge in September of 2006 in Coeur d’Alene, ID.

The last few years of his life, Clifton enjoyed being a member of the Stanley Lions Club and a local men’s Bible study group. He loved going places with the other two members of the “Three Amigos” club (You know who you are).

Clifton loved time with his grandchildren and had a special cat, “Precious”. He was an avid sports fan of the Vikings and Twins and enjoyed watching Wednesday “ Chicago” series TV shows.

He is survived by his daughter, Kristie (Jerome) Joyce and their children, Courtney Ruppert, Denver Ruppert, Kaylee Joyce and Zakkary Joyce; son, Chad (Megan) Halvorson and their children, Joclynn and Kenadee; son, Nathan (Christy) Halvorson and their daughter, Raeanne Halvorson; brother, Steve (Londa ) Halvorson, Dickinson; sister, Pam Walter, Williston; many nieces and nephews.

Clifton was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and wife, Tina (Knigge) Halvorson.

The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, love and support. The memories, laughs and tears through this time made a huge impact on us all. None of it will be forgotten. Thank you all for being a big or small part of our Dad’s life.

So sorry for your loss. Clifton and I went to grade school together. He was always fun and a really nice person.

Pam and all of Cliff's family, so very sorry to hear of Cliff's passing! Altho only a short time as a neighbor in Tioga during high school years, he was always a very kind soul. God bless!!
