Pam Uran
September 2, 1948 - November 2, 2018

Place of Birth: Stanley, North Dakota
Residence: Stanley, North Dakota
Age: 70

Pam Uran, 70, of Stanley, ND passed away on Friday, November 2, 2018 at her home in Stanley.

Pam was born in Stanley, ND, to Elmer and Violet (Mahlum) Johnson on September 2, 1948. She attended country school in Sidonia Township through seventh grade, graduated from Stanley High School, and attended Minot State College. Pam’s first job was at State Bank and Trust of Kenmare. She later moved to Stanley to work at the Mountrail County Register of Deeds office.

Pam met Lloyd Uran and they married in the First English Lutheran Church in Lostwood on June 9, 1973. Pam truly became a part of the Uran family and was very close to her family-in-marriage. Pam and Lloyd lived south of Ross, and Pam joined the Catholic Church in Stanley. They opened their home to foster children when first married, and Pam treasured the memories of those boys and girls. Pam and Lloyd soon welcomed a daughter, Darcy, and a son, Grady into the family.

Pam enjoyed her Homemakers Club when on the farm and continued when she and Lloyd moved to a home in Stanley. She appreciated her neighbors and treasured her friends, so there were always stories of birthdays and other celebrations. The Mahlum Cousins by the Dozens was a favorite summer event. Pam had worked at the New Town Nursing Home, Tri-City Cares and Mountrail County Social Services.

Pam liked to read and do hand crafts, embroidery or knitting, especially if it were a gift. She loved to shop for the grandkids and spend time with them. After Lloyd’s death last year, Pam filled her days with new activities. Thanks to the kindness of many women in Stanley, she joined the quilters at the Lutheran Church on Monday mornings, got into water aerobics, and went to movies with the group. Recently she joined the American Lutheran Church and has been joyfully taking part in the activities of that congregation.

Pam’s memory will be carried on by her son Grady (Lisa Westerness) Uran, daughter Darcy (Brent) Christensen, grandchildren Jonas, Levi, Case, Kaley, Lily, Sadee, Dylan, and her sister Linda (Doug) Wurtz. Sisters-in-law, Joan Uran, Frieda(John) Boeke and Emily Debele and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd, mother Violet Johnson and father Elmer Johnson. Brothers-in-law, Kenny Uran and Arlen Debele.

I got to know Pam through friends and we got together to play games, especially during the winter. We all enjoyed the social gathering. I will miss her and that smile. May she rest in peace.

Your mom was very special to me. I always enjoyed being in her presence and I will miss her laugh. God showed great mercy to both your mom and dad. You'll both be in my prayers.

Pam was such a fun and beautiful person. I cannot think of her without thinking of the joy she felt in being with her family, especially her grandchildren. She always had a warm smile and giggle, and was always supportive of her community.
