Margaret Bernadette Meek
April 26, 1927 - March 29, 2018

Place of Birth: Rural Williston, ND
Residence: Williston, ND
Age: 90

Margaret Meek, 90, of Williston, ND, passed away, March 29, 2018 at her residence in Williston.

Margaret was born April 26, 1927 in Williams County, East of Williston, to John and Marie Ann (Lyonais) Lynch and passed away at her residence in Williston at the age of 90 on March 29, 2018.
She married Merle “Buck” Meek on June 13, 1943 in Sidney, MT. They started their life together in Colorado Springs, CO for a short time before they began farming north of Williston for several years. Margaret kept herself extremely busy cooking and baking for hired men on the farm, preparing chickens, eggs, and cream to deliver to customers in town on weekends. However, she always managed to have her fingernails polished, hair and makeup perfect. Later on, they moved to Williston where she kept busy cutting someone’s hair or giving permanents, baking bread, gardening and vacuuming!
Muggs is preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, (Buck), her parents, (3) brothers: Pat, Victor, Floyd; (6) sisters: Irene Smith, Wilma Leverton, Alma Doyle, Louise Henson/Jacobson, Anna Mae McDonald, Jeannette Lara and one grandson, Bill Smith.
She is survived by her daughters, Rayetta (Kevin) Donnelly and Shelly (Tom) Walker; Son, Dean (Geri) Meek; Grandchildren: Natalie (Mike) Egemo, Theresa (Tom) Boelts, Jerry (Kristi) Anderson, Nicole Weber, Jackie Anderson, Leonard (Ashleigh) Anderson, Peri (Keith) McMeans, Chad (Mariko) Meek; Ryan Meek; Rebecca (Joe) Scalio, Sharon (Marty) Bratrud, Sabrina (Jason) Merten; (23) great-grandchildren; (5) great-great grandchildren; (3) sisters: Delores Hackenberg, Eva Carlson, Rosemary (Jim) Waselowski; (5) brothers: Leonard (Marvel), Charlie (Beverly), Eugene (Carolyn), Robert, and Archie (Connie).
She will be deeply missed. She was an encyclopedia of knowledge regarding family and friends and neighbors from the surrounding Williston area. She was everyone’s counselor and the best listener.
We love you, Mom/Muggs/Margaret/Grandma! I know a woman of strength and beauty; I have watched her for years. She is my mother!

Dear Family,
We extend our sympathy and love in the death of your sweet Mom / Grandma.
Mugs was our good friend and neighbor many years ago on 7th Ave. West. She was legendary in her many talents and abilities. One of the neighbors told the story about a weird noise coming from Mugg’s refrigerator. By mid morning, she had taken the whole motor apart with all the parts lined up on the counter. The refrigerator was put back together again before supper and running like a top!!
She also helped me reupholster a love seat one summer all those years ago and it’s still just as attractive today in the same fabric. She was an amazing woman and was truly as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside.
Rest In peace, sweet Muggs, as you’ll be with Buck once again.
Love, Marg
