Steven was born August 10th, 1943, in Williston, ND. He was the second of four children, son of Eugene and Ruth (Foster) Hexom and raised in rural Williston. Steven graduated from the Hillcrest Academy High School, Fergus Falls, Minn., and from the diesel mechanics school at Wahpeton. He joined Company C of the National Guard in Williston in 1965 and received his basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.

Steven was a very determined hard worker, but never forgot to smile and joke with his friends and family. He owned his own company, Hexom Earth Construction that he started after his marriage to Doreen JoAnne Koeser. He sold his business in 2008 and retired. Not wanting to let retirement slow him down, he got involved with Youth for Christ serving as a volunteer and Board Member. When not spending time with his grandchildren he could be found restoring his 35 Chevy pickup.

Steven will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather, a good friend and hard worker. His care and compassion were shown through his eagerness to lend a helping hand at every given opportunity. Steven will be missed and remembered by all who knew and loved him.
